EXCLUSIVE: Justin Timberlake has landed a starring role in Trouble With The Curve, the Robert Lorenz-directed Warner Bros film that will star Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams. Eastwood plays a veteran scout who goes on a scouting trip with his daughter (Adams). The goal is to scout a new phenom. Timberlake will play a rival scout who is sweet on the elder scout’s daughter. Warner Bros just dated the film for September 28. Timberlake is about to star in Inside Llewyn Davis, which is directed by the Coens. Timberlake is repped by WME and managed by Jennifer Killoran and Rick Yorn.

Well…i must confess i do enjoy watching timberlake in new movies,am glad is movie career is really kicking off…BUT am sure am gonna enjoy him even more if he releases another album!!!

Eastwood is so old-school and such a man, why cast a boy like Timberlake? maybe they just want to play some golf together and relax. This seems odd. I actually think Timberlake can be good in some roles, but opposite Eastwood? Seems like a stretch.

Justin Timberlake has charisma in his music videos , but in his movies he is completely flat and boring. In Time & Friends With Benefits proved this. Clint Eastwood must be desperate.

His performance was terrible – you could see him trying to act, not actually being the character. He was the greatest flaw of a largely flawless film. He simply isn’t talented.
The script has good characters, but is insanely predictable. Zero interesting turns. Not sure why it’s a movie people will want to see.
Wow, can you people find something else to bitch about? I know, I know, he was in a boy band, but Justin Timberlake has turned in some really credible performances. Watch him in Friends With Benefits and Social Network. If you’re being objective and honest with yourself, you’d come to the conclusion that he was pretty good in both roles.
He’s so fay in all of his roles. Can’t understand why any woman would want to watch him do anything other than song and dance.

You’re awesome. Justin needs to go back to the studio and I’m not talking movie studio. How great was Timberlake in IN TIME? Bombed. Yeah just look at his history in film. Don’t count the music videos. Just because Timberlake stars in a film does not mean it should happen again.

Timberlake only gets Social Network cred because his subpar acting was camouflaged by the STELLAR cast holding him up during his fleeting scenes. Don’t get me wrong, he seems like a super stand up dude, I just prefer that his acting is relegating to his SNL stints. I mean, Clint is getting way up there in years, how tragic would it be if he shared the bill of his last film with “JT.”
Two thoughts:
1. Why the fiery hatred for Timberlake? He’s funny.
2. Hopefully it’s very “Canteen Boy Meets the Scoutmaster.”

What utter nonsense, I recently said I look forward to this project but now I hold considerably less enthusiasm. Timberlake is a good singer and dancer, nothing else.
Oh, come one people, he was in 4 (!) international hits within 15 months, after that, of course he can score better projects now. He hasn’t impressed me in anything yet (nothing special/spectacular; decent in The Social Network, competent in Friends with Benefits…no more, no less) BUT he deserves credit for at least trying : his future projects include Warren Beatty’s new film, the Coens’ next movie AND now he was cast in a Clint Eastwood-project…after proving that he can sell a romcom (Friends with Benefits made 150M worldwide on a 35M budget) and that he is perfectly capable of delivering a good/great performance IF the script/project is right (The Social Network), the ‘takemeseriouslyiamaseriousactordammit’ parts were inevitable. This next ‘phase’ will decide whether he could be a movie star/actor (Brad Pitt-type) OR just a romcom-movie star (Ashton Kutcher-type).

I vote for Kevin Connolly as the power-hitting center fielder who must choose between the hooch or his love of the game. And by love of the game, I mean a nine-year, $159-miilion dollar deal with a player option for an opt-out in year three.
Justin was admittedly not hateable in The Social Network, though I agree with Caroline that he was propped up by Thoroughbred co-stars. Thing is I have zero interest in watching him onscreen. One of the main problems is Justin Timberlake always looks like Justin Timberlake! Same problem I have with Jennifer Aniston. I mean don’t get me started on that.
If he desperately needs this validation (and it seems he does) Justin should stick to random skits on SNL. I guess. And maybe bit parts here and there. I guess. But carrying films? Puh-leeze.
Got home from dinner, read this post and the comments. Then I turned on Southland. Nothing against JT, I adore him. However, just watching part of Southland, why doesn’t someone like Ben Mckenzie or Shawn Hatosy get a break and be cast with Eastwood?

He’s awful, simply awful. I’m losing faith in this business when boy pimp gets cast in a Coen Bros Film, and maybe Clint’s last acting gig. Complete sacrilege. Shame on you, having all these actors hustle in auditions and then pick a non-talent. He played himself basically in a minor role in Fincher’s movie. All else has failed critically and at the box office, but no, let’s go there again. LAME!
Can someone in the business, and who really knows the answer, PLEASE explain to me why Timberlake keeps getting cast in roles with a high profile when he has such little talent. There are so many far better actors out there, with more talent, charisma and screen presence. Do the suits really feel his name recognition means so much? Somebody please explain.
Name recognition. Plain and simple. Think about why Hollywood is only making prequels or sequels or hit novels or remakes of tv shows or hit movies from overseas. They need to have source material to justify their jobs if the project bombs. That way everyone involved can say, “Well it was a HUGE book.” or “Justin Timberlake is a HUGE name.”
No one wants to take a chance with that much money at stake. They want as many “sure thing” components as they can jam into it.
I don’t know but the description of his character in this movie reminds me a little of his Sean Parker for some odd reason.
-In Time- made more than 100 million at the international box office which make a total of around 140 million (without DVD sales etc..)-hardly a failure…
So many other better, out of work, actors available and he has to pick him. Guess this means we’ll have to put up with another SNL hosting gig when the movie gets released. Geeeeeezzzzzz!

So many B.Spears fans here lmaooooo! Bombed? Did you know JT was named the most profitable actor last year with 3 movies over 150m. WW? Yes the guy was in a boy-band. Yes the guy is multimillionaire. Yes the guy owns MySpace and has a handicap 6. Things that make people hate on him. But I sit in my coach and watch movies with guys 39372939 times worse than JT in lead roles and no one says sh*t. Get over it. The guy is fun. Watch SNL or Jimmy Fallon. Watch The Social Network. Watch FWB. It’s not the end of the world. Keanu worked with Bertolucci, Coppola, Gus Van Sant etc…and yeah, the world still keep moving.
