On the heels of Dance Moms opening its second season with a series high 2.5 million viewers, Lifetime has greenlighted a spinoff series, Dance Moms: Miami. The six-episode series will go behind-the-scenes at Miami-based Stars Dance Studio, focusing on its owners Victor Smalley and Angel, their young students and their mothers. “Dance Moms quickly became a stand-out hit for Lifetime last year that we knew would be perfect to build out and franchise into other series,” said Lifetime president Nancy Dubuc. Dance Moms: Miami will be produced by Dance Moms producer Collins Avenue and executive produced by Jeff Collins, Bryan Stinson and John R. Corella. The original Dance Moms, which stars outspoken dance instructor Abby Lee Miller, is Lifetime’s youngest-skewing series with a median age of 37. While it started on the scripted side when CBS spun off its forensic hit CSI into new series set in different locations with CSI: Miami and CSI: NY, this has now become the model for expanding a reality franchise following Bravo’s success with Real Housewives.

A message during the season finale stated Army Wives would not be back until Winter 2012.
And we’re mid-January and they haven’t even announced a date.
As long as all the adults on each Dance Moms is blown up on the last episode, I’m onboard

Simple overkill now…what next…Dance Moms in 13 other cities across the USA? When will this reality garbage stop? Thanks, CBS & Survivor for starting all this crap back in 2000
I am outraged that “the original” Dance Moms is not on. The best reaiity show on TV. The Mimi one is awful. The dancers are not a bit attractive. Hannah does not have the body od a dancer.maybe a soccier player. Jesse is not attractive s a person or a dancer. It’s awful!! Abby ‘s dancers are so much more talented, the moms are hilarious and fun to watch. I don’t agree with the slams at Abby;s weight. She produces wonderful dancers. “Miami” should be cancelled NOW!! ..and Abby brought back sooner than June. This has spoiled tuesday nights!!!! “Miami choreography is deplorable and so is the technique or lack there of. Not watching anymore., until Abby comes back. What a letdown to most of your viewers!!!! This has not been commented on before from me. Last tuesday was my first disappointment!! So please submit!!
