Millennium Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to the romantic drama/comedy A Little Bit of Heaven. The film stars Kate Hudson, Kathy Bates, Whoopi Goldberg, Gael Garcia Bernal, Lucy Punch, Romany Malco, Rosemarie DeWitt, Steven Weber and Treat Williams. The film is directed by Nicole Kassell (The Woodsman) from an original screenplay by Gren Wells.
Set in New Orleans, A Little Bit Of Heaven focuses on an irreverent young woman (Hudson) who unexpectedly falls in love with her doctor (Bernal). Can he cure her commitment phobia? Millennium will utilize a multi-platform release model, with VOD launching April 3, followed by a platform theatrical release on May 4th with ancillary to follow on June 12th.
Below is an early trailer for the film:

wow… what a fall from grace for Kate. She used to be academy award nominated, now her movies go straight to video.
Gren wrote an ass cancer story. Big butt of nothin’.
Woodsman – yes.
She’s successful, independent, sexually frank and aggressive. So she’s struck with cancer to be forced into a conventional female role. Ugh.
I want to like Kate Hudson’s romantic comedy movies. I really do. Despite the fact that she (as well as the writers, producers, etc.) ruined one of my favorite books (Something Borrowed)….there is something about her acting, personality, etc. that falls flat in these type of movies. Same thing with How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. Its so weird…its like she comes across as unbelieveable as a heroine.
I really hope her character can pull it together and settle for a good looking doctor. I am crossing my fingers for her.
A leftover from The Film Department.
Great cast, crap movie.
It was released on dvd late last year in Ireland/UK.
Watching this now on DVD (I live in uk). This is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. No cliche has gone unmolested. Black/Gay life affirming friend, kooky gal pals-all here. Awful.
