After posting its first season-to-season decline for its fourth-season finale, MTV’s juggernaut Jersey Shore‘s posted its first season-to-season premiere drop. Last night’s Season 5 opener was down 14% from the Season 4 debut. Still, it drew a massive audience of 7.6 million viewers and dominated the 10 PM hour in adults 18-49 on broadcast and cable. In persons 12-34, Jersey Shore posted a 7.2 rating.

It’s about time the viewers of this show wake up and reaize what a shitfest this show truly is. It’s an embarrassment for TV as a whole and maybe Moron TV will wake up and end this damn thing for good.
I believe the word “massive” in describing 7 million viewers should be followed by the words “for cable.” For perspective, “NCIS” on CBS routinely gets a legitimately “massive” audience of 20 million.

I used to watch this show as a guilty pleasure. It is now just horrendous. Kill it with fire!
The same for me. I watched first season since the whole “Guido” culture is new to me. But it gets tired fast. Now I can not see even 5 minutes of it without vomiting.

Yeah…and an earthquake ensues. And a brush fire gets out of control. And both reality series finally die. On air. And no more. At all. Whatsoever.
This is most likely the last season. A pretty fun show, but it got stale somewhere around season 3. I still watch it, though. It’s more entertaining than most of the stuff in theaters right now.
Exactly my thoughts… I watch more out of habit and wanting to know how it all finally blows up in the end…
