EXCLUSIVE: Senior TV talent agent Steve Small told Paradigm today that he is leaving the agency to “pursue a more creative aspect of the business”.
Small told the tenpercentery he’ll announce his plans next week. He came from Writers And Artists agency when it merged with Paradigm and was head of talent for a couple of years, then began reporting to Norm Aladjem. Small’s departure follows the exit of Alternative TV agent Cameron Kadison last night to start that unit for Principato Young management.

Paradigm is the worst. They have failed at becoming the next Gersh.
Didn’t they also lose the head of their NY comedy department, Matt Frost???
Because no one would have noticed.
Frost went to CAA
Small is a class act, good luck to him.
Capt. Lashout-
Define “class act”?
Maybe he finally grew a conscience????
Paradigm is becoming a wasteland. Small is a good guy. Good luck Steve, hope you are on your way to bigger things…
Cameron is one of a kind. He will do wonders wherever he is.
thanks, mom!
love, cameron
Good riddance. I wouldn’t trust that guy with a knife if I swallowed a penny.
Small is a great guy and always worked hard for his clients. I’m sure he is off to bigger and better things. Good luck Steve you deserve it.
Seriously? Steve small a class act? Paradigm is falling apart!
Although I wish him luck, Steve Small is NOT a class act. Im sure Paradigm kindly let him seek a creative aspect of the business on his terms rather than simply firing him. He lost any clients worth more than a nickel and had NO support within the agency. Im sure the other agents in the office are celebrating his “dismissal”
Schenck I know this is you. Kisses.
Steve was a mentor to every young agent in the department and gets the lionshare of credit for building the talent department over the past 7 years after the W&A purchase. Everyone is sad to see him make this choice but we wish him well.
@ J…hit it on the head. Just a greedy,no talent. pushy ass hole. How do I know that? Kasdan blew two reality deals for me because he couldn’t get a packaging fee. Then told me the networks passed. By the time I found out, it was too late. be careful everyone.
It is true Steve Small was a great mentor to many young agents for many years. I am one of those people. However, due to his ultimate betrayal of so many of us, I am conflicted on whether to love the guy or hate him…to wish him well, or not. Steve was brilliant negotiator, signer, and teacher – he would have become a great leader and success story if he had the backbone to stay the course, to follow the principles that I believe he has within him, but has always been too afraid to put into practice…and all out of a misplaced fear of looking weak. I can only speculate that Steve’s personal demons got the best of him at this juncture, and he found himself on the “island” he despised. Steve used to always say “you can’t agent on an island”. With all his foot soliders gone, he finally found himself on that island, and now that island is swept away. For the sake of his wife and children, I hope Steve can learn from his mistakes, mend the severely fractured and broken relationships, be true to himself for once, get back to doing what he loves, and have a Hollywood comeback. Godspeed Smally…
