EXCLUSIVE: Two decades after she made her Broadway debut at the age of 5 singing with the Boys Choir of Harlem, Raven-Symoné is back on stage as the star of a Broadway musical. The actress-singer is set to take over the lead role in the musical Sister Act based on the hit 1992 movie, replacing Patina Miller as Deloris Van Cartier. Whoopi Goldberg, who played Deloris in the film and its sequel, produces the Broadway adaptation featuring original music by Alan Menken, which opened in April 2011. Raven-Symoné is slated to begin rehearsals at the end of February and hit the stage of the Broadway Theatre at the end of March for a minimum six-month engagement. Miller originated the role of Deloris both in the West End and Broadway productions of Sister Act, making her Broadway debut. Raven-Symoné is with UTA and Untitled.

I love Raven. She’s perfect for this.
I love Raven but I’ve seen Sister Act and she’s just not right for this. I also doubt she has the singing chops to pull this off.
I know she’s tried singing, but this was my reservation as well, Cheetah Girls not withstanding.
Finally a role where raven can show all her talent. I’ve seen her perform live and she is a natural. Can’t wait to take the family ro see her on this.
I totally agree with Ravyn Symone, this is her life! She is a grown woman. She is a successful actress and a young lady that chooses to keep her personal life, personal; which is best for any celebrity. People need to respect that! Especially theNational Inquirerer, they are the reason why so many people struggle to live, point blank period. I wish this young ladyy the best and should she be a lesbian, I hope her family find a way to accept that, or at least respect her choice, to be herself.
