EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate has set Rosemary Rodriguez to direct Addicted, an adaptation of the provocative bestselling novel by Zane. The book is a psychological drama that tells the story of the perfect family woman whose addiction to sex is unraveling her perfect family life. Script was written by Christina Welsh, with a rewrite by playwright Lucy Thurber. The film’s being readied for a spring/early summer start. Rodriguez has helmed Acts of Worship and episodes of TV shows including The Good Wife and Rescue Me. She’s repped by Rain Management Group and Paradigm.

Rosemary’s one of the best directors in town. She deserves all of this!
Talk about a hard sell.Any sexually explicit movie is going to have a difficult time being marketed to the mainstream.And on top of that it’s a sexually explicit film with a black female lead.We know how the public and Hollywood treats those types of movies.
I wonder who’ll be cast in this movie?I’ve never read any Zane novels, but I’m familiar with them.I’d imagine the film would require it’s share of nudity.Of the notable black actresses I know like Taraji P Henson, Naomi Harris, Zoe Saldana and Paula Patton, I don’t think they do much nudity.I think Kerry Washington does, so I guess she’s a good choice.

After having watched “Acts of Worship” several years ago I look forward to seeing Addicted. Rosemary Rodriguez is a very gifted director; so much that in watching Acts of Worship my composure became unraveled as the intense emotional scenes gripped my attention completely. Drawing out this talent in the actors was an excellent work of art my Rosemary Rodriguez. I don’t normally cry at movies but when I see Addicted I will certainly be ready with a box of kleenex for the impacting scenes. Excellent choice for directing this movie. I will be first in line at the box office!
Rosemary is admired by her peers and is an amazing director.
