More senior staff changes are taking place at Film Independent, the organization that annually produces the Los Angeles Film Festival and the Spirit Awards. Stephanie Allain, the longtime producer and former Columbia Pictures executive, has been named the new director of the Los Angeles Film Festival, replacing Rebecca Yeldham, who recently stepped down. Today’s announcement comes in the wake of the appointment of Sean McManus and Josh Welsh as co-presidents of Film Independent earlier this month.

SO PROUD OF YOU, STEPHANIE!
This will be a whole new chapter for the LAFF. Stephanie has taste, credentials, and on top of that, is a good person. Excited to see what she does with it.
Anyone know why Yeldham got sacked?
Steph!!! Congrats!! So happy for you!!
Great choice, LAFF!
Congrats, Steph! This is awesome.
It’s about to get interesting. I believe she is just the breath of fresh air it may have needed. Bravo!
Always loved her. Congrads!
