EXCLUSIVE: Here’s a clip from Arbitrage, the feature-directing debut of writer Nicholas Jarecki. Richard Gere plays a hedge fund trader desperate to unload his company before his fraud is found out. An unexpected misstep forces him to turn to a figure from his past played by Nate Parker (who is also in Spike Lee’s new film Red Hook Summer playing at the festival). Susan Sarandon, Brit Marling, Laetetia Casta and Tim Roth also star. Premieres this evening at Sundance.

I hear this film is amazing. Can’t wai to see it.
Sorry to disappoint, Ken. But I saw the movie (grant it, it didn’t have finished sound yet) and it was mediocre at best. Performances are okay but the direction is surprisingly bad. It probably could have been better in more talented hands.
i was invited to an earlier screening of a rough cut several months ago. this film totally took me by surprise. it was fantastic.
This clip is hardly enticing, though, is it?
Nate Parker stars in George Lucas’ “Red Tails” as well.
