‘The Devil Inside’ Helmer William Brent Bell Takes To ‘The Vatican’ At Warner Bros
The creative team behind horror hit The Devil Inside have lined up a new untitled project that will be financed vby Sierra/Affinity and the Incentive Filmed Entertainment Fund. The Untitled Bell/Peterman Project will be directed by William Brent Bell from a screenplay he and Matthew Peterman wrote. It will bring a similar filmmaking style to another classic horror mythology. The plot is being kept under wraps but the project will begin production in Romania in April. Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Insidious), Peterman (The Devil Inside) and Morris Paulson (The Devil Inside) are producing. Bell, Peterman and Paulson will oversee the movie through their production company Pototype. Sierra/Affinity will pitch the project to buyers next month in Berlin during the European Film Market. Sierra/Affinity and Incentive are also behind the upcoming Parker starring Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez and directed by Taylor Hackford from a screenplay by John J. McLaughlin. It’s based on the Parker novels by Donald E. Westlake. FilmDistrict is distributing in the U.S. Incentive also financed the Area 51 project written and directed by Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity).

Not sure how rich these guys got off that last piece of crapola they made, but this is so typical of Hollywood to give some hacks a bigger project just because they got really lucky. I hope they have a great career, but they haven’t proven a thing except they can make a really, really bad low budget movie. Who couldn’t?
So great for you to JUDGE on your COUCH. Where the F is your script?? Always blame “Hollywood” for your shortcomings ..keep it coming! I on the other hand believe these guys had to have SOMETHING for Paramount to love it..congratulations to indie filmmakers who have BALLS enough to try! Sure, they are not Spielberg but I mean…less than a million to make and 34.5 opening weekend? Can you say genus? !!! Drown in envy buddy!
Question: Does found footage material travel internationally for presales?
Depends on who owns the rights to the “found footage”.
Sorry. Couldn’t resist making fun of the genre. Cheap laugh.
The marketers should get this gig not the filmmakers. They’re the ones who showed they know what to do!
Presales? Probably not so much unless the team has a track record. But int’l absolutely buys finished found footage.
I would love to know the real story behind devil inside. did the producers know it was a shit script but knew they could cash in with their track record, or, did something go wrong to earn that F cinemascore? You can’t get worse than an F so this has to be better. I did get an “incomplete” once. is that worse than an F?
I used to get “Must try harder” on my school reports. Does that count?
Having seen an earlier cut of DEVIL, which was far less problematic, I think its safe to assume that the studio’s involvement is what lead to the movie we saw in theaters. These guys actually did make a great film. I’m excited to see what comes next.
I would have so loved it if the headline for this had just read “‘The Devil Inside’ Duo William Brent Bell, Matthew Peterman Prep New”
