EXCLUSIVE: I have learned that Syfy is finalizing a deal to pick up 7 additional episodes of its flagship series Warehouse 13, bringing the dramedy’s total fourth season order to 20 episodes. Syfy renewed Warehouse 13 for a fourth season in August with a 13-episode order, the size of the show’s first 3 seasons. Warehouse 13, about two Secret Service Agents (Joanne Kelly, Eddie McClintock) working at a government warehouse for supernatural “artifacts,” remains Syfy’s flagship scripted series, drawing some 2 million viewers in Live+Same Day during its most recent third season. Last summer, it was used to launch the cable network’s newest drama, Alphas.

Good to hear. This is one of Syfy’s better shows, although the individual show plotlines tend to become repetitive. It did better in this last season with a season-long story arc. More of those will make the show better. (Although it does seem to be pretty similar to TNT’s “Librarian” – or whatever it was called).
Warehouse 13 was also a good companion to Eureka, with several cross-over episodes. Eureka is winding up its run with a shortened last season in 2012. Sorry to see that go away.
More episodes in a season of a show I enjoy? I’m glad. There’s not too many SyFy shows I watch. Haven is my favorite, then I’d say Eureka, Warehouse 13 and Sanctuary. I liked Alphas enough to keep with it weekly but it’s nothing I’m obsessing over. One and done. Now I’ve definitely rewatched the W13 eps, I really enjoy the character development, it’s what keeps me even if the cases are slightly repetitive. They do wonderful teamwork and great things with the relationships between all the characters in the show. Which is really the best you could ask for. If you’re not invested in the characters, you’re not invested in the story. Looking forward to more arcs like what season 3 had. I was actually very moved by how dark and twisty the finale was. I had no idea they’d go “there” in a show I’d always deemed sort of fun and light. But that’s a good thing.
so/… maybe a musical ? : ))
The Good news, More episodes
The Bad news, Expect a split season, which SyFy is notorious for with large episode orders like this.
Expect 10 episodes to air this summer and the back 10 to air in the winter or early 2013.
Beat me to it.
“Season 4″ will air in 2012, and “Season 4.5″ will air in 2013, so really, they cut the order down from 13 to 10, while greenlighting season 5 in a really odd way. I’m sure it makes sense on someone’s tax ledger, however, though it is extremely misleading and a bit disingenuous.
no your wrong…….it means season 4′s back ten will air in the first part of 2013 and then season 5′s front ten will air in the fall of 2013 so there will be 20 episodes a year instead of 13. I hope you get it now.
Seems you were actually wrong, with the season split as Don J originally posted, with the final 10 starting at the end of April 2013, not the start of 2013 as you suggested.
A split would be somewhat better, because it would mean less time in between seasons.
This is great news. Good mix of drama/comedy/sci-fi. Glad to see them getting it right for once.
And why on earth hasn’t Sanctuary even been renewed yet?! I’m SO excited about Warehouse 13, but really, Sanctuary needs another 20 episode season, too!
Good news, but probably means a split season. Creatively season 3 was W13′s best The final few minutes of the season finale were some of the best of the whole series. I only hope they dig themselves out the hole they made is a creatively good way.
Man this piss me off got to wait see my favorite show second to dr who my other favorite. Show
So, waiting “patiently” to hear when Warehouse 13 will ACTUALLY start Airing again on SYFY!! AND (as notated above) for how many actual showings of the new 20 we will be Privy to at a time!
I cannot believe that’s syfy is terminating eureka, apart from warehouse 13 ,sanctuary ,and now lost girl ; syfy has become a piece of crap .
I mean where does syfy come up with a show about a restaurant and think they can get away by calling it syfy ,I mean really how dumb do you think we are ?
Also ,did you know that more than half of it’s programming now ( not including the movies
did you know that half of its programming that syfy has currently running ( not including the movies ) are really not syfy related shows and yet they push this garbage on us thinking that we like it .
What ever happened to shows like andromena, farscape ,roswell , firefly ,babylon 5, and so on, and so on ,star trek, stargate sg-1 , oh and why won’t you bring back shows like stargate atlantis , that syfy terminated before its time .
I do know 1 thing ,we ask the fans to stand united and make syfy put back ,or create new shows like before or we are a must boycott syfy ..
or at worst ,syfy should add another syfy channel like a east or west or ( A ) or ( B ) with our old favorites a new programing , and they can continue on the other channel the garbage that they’re putting out now like that nuclear restaurant monster man face off or even wrestling ,now don’t get me wrong I love wrestling and I love face off and some other programs but I just don’t think they do belong in syfy …..
to all the fans out there we need to be united and tell whoever is running syfy 2 step down they are making this channel worse .
put it this way it is so bad that sometimes I rather see the cartoon network ,and watch the garbage did they have currently , and talk about being loyal I think I have been there since day 1 when syfy came on the air , I myself live in the florida keys and got a petition so that the local cable company could add syfy channel 2 its programming that is how much I use to believe in it ,but now this channel is a joke .
we as fans need to step up and talk and make syfy listen to us.
thank you
You are confusing SciFi with SyFy. I think they changed their name because they are not interested in viewers who like science fiction, hence all the not really reality shows on the network.
We need a network by for and of sci fi lovers who would love to see the great sci fi stories of all time turned into tv shows, mini series and movies (whichever would be most appropriate).
WOW ,YEA – YOUR RIGHT
COME ON PEOPLE LET’S ALL JOIN IN
SO SYFY GIVE US BETTER PROGRAMING
AND THEY STOP CANCELING SHOW’S THAT WE LOVE
B-4 THERE TIME
The split season thing is a way of extending the actors at the current rate without giving them a chance to negotiate for raises which they would have been able to do had they ‘called it’ a fifth season. Good news – good show gets two more seasons. Better than them killing good shows before their time as SciFi has been famous for – no doubt budget has more money slated for GREAT ideas like name changes than actors.
I have to admit the programming has been bad… I really enjoyed all the Stargate even SGU. Now I have been waiting for WH13 and Sancuary to get renewed and a few others. I keep channel surfing and think maybe there on let’s go check??? No still nothing but the crap the above viewer listed. Croc’s eating people and all these really kinda stupid fill in movies. Please SYFY Return the good series.
wake up people. NBC owns syfy now. they could care less about the viewers, or what they like.
I love the fact that they travel around the world all the time. The production value of this show must be really big.
Great concept. Very Indiana Jones but modern time plus with a CSI/Men In Black twist.
I think they need 2 channels like the cartoon network has BOOM for classic cartoons SYFY needs a second network for classic sci-fi
I love this show and i loved eureka and alphas and i wish they would keep making them all with alot more tie ins and mybe the ocasional movie encorparating all of the programs!
I agree with Jerry c. What ever happened to all the good shows .ever since SCIFI changes its name to SyFy the shows suck I would say that most of what is shown has nothing to do with science fiction. You cancelled Eureka ur in the process of canceling Merlin now I hear Sanctuary is also gone . Could someone tell me where wrestling is a science fiction show and please get rid of Total Blackout all that screaming and acting silly I miss all the old shows such as Farscape etc not this drival were being fed as SCIFI. Years ago I looked forward to watching this channel on Saturday and Sunday the movies were great now it’s repeat after repeat if I watch rise of the Lycans one more time on a weekend I will scream and the movies that r coming out r so campy and the CGI sucks and so does the acting. Come on SYFI get it together or I’m going to make chiller my new best network
I like the sound of 20 eps, butmy concern will be if they split it into 2 fully priced season sets at the store. I mean it is $40 now per season when they come out for 13 eps. Now it may split and become $80 per season sold separately. …
I don’t really care if Warehouse 13 is “SyFyee” enough or not. Many of those so called science fiction shows take themselves too serious, go way over the top and become too convoluted. I enjoy the campy aspect of the show, the humor, the drama and character story lines. Any show that can keep it dark and light hearted at the same time is okay by me. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and that is kudos by me!!! Keep it up Warehouse 13!!!!
Ok, for one SyFy didn’t cancell merlin. That was a BBC show. They decided it was time for the story to end. If you paid attention in highschool then you know that Arthur dies at the hands of Mordrid. There isn’t any way around that fact. So, BBC decided that 5 seasons were enough to complete the story, NOT SyFy. I agree that cancelling Eureka was a very bad move on their part. The problem here is that the SyFy execs don’t have the final say, since they fall under a parent company throught hte Comcast-NBC Universal merger. The folks over at NBC said that the profit margins were too low for Eureka due to its high cost of production, and ordered the cancellation of the show. What is sad is that Eureka is an incredible show, and I feel that even if the show isn’t making a ton of money, it is still undoubtedly making enough money to justify keeping it. Bad move NBC. Warehouse 13, now the flagship for SyFy, in my opinion is a wonderful show and I’m glad they at least kept that. It really irks me that we lost Eureka for a stupid H.G. Wells spinoff. And what’s sad is the H.G. spinoff is going to fall flat on its face and be cancelled like all the others NBC deems unworthy. I am hoping that in a year or so either SyFy will pick back up on Eureka, or another network will buy the show and start production again. Anyway that’s my two cents. Signing off.
