WME has signed Australian actress Abbie Cornish, who began taking meetings with the major agencies over the past two weeks. Cornish just finished filming Seven Pychopaths, directed by Martin McDonagh with Colin Farrell and Woody Harrelson. Cornish will next appear in the indie film The Girl, and currently stars in the Madonna-directed W.E. She previously starred in Jane Campion’s critically-acclaimed Bright Star, and The Golden Age. Cornish is managed by Michael Lazo at Untitled Entertainment. WME already bolstered its actress ranks today by signing Dakota and Elle Fanning.

She left Hylda? Wow. On the other hand, she’s such an intriguing actress, should have a different career going, so good for her. Still though, wow.
What agency was she with before WME?
She was repped by Hylda Queally at CAA, who reps…well, all the great young talent (she discovered Kate Winslet, she discovered Abbie, reps Cate Blanchett, Michelle Williams, Penelope Cruz). I think it’s rare that an actress leaves Hylda but on the other hand, Abbie didn’t seem to work much.
That girl is fan freaking tastic.
Some bad luck/ bad choices – but she’s a comer.
Abby’s family live near me in Australia and I went to school with her… a more likable, down-to-earth person I’ve yet to meet. Well done Abby.
I love her, it’s nice to hear that
She’s a real talent…great for her.
She’s awesome. One of my favorites.
My computer’s fans came on the moment her picture showed up on my screen.
And I turned off the heating. It’s suddenly too hot in here anyway.
Great sign for WME. Smart move on Abbie’s part. CAA has a lot of high profile special actresses. I’m sure it’s hard to get feel unique on that list.
What a babe. Can’t wait to see more from her!
