Feature director Adam Shankman has been tapped to direct NBC’s untitled Hilary Winston single-camera pilot, from Sony TV and Jamie Tarses’ Fanfare. It centers on a shy, focused woman who, after being dumped by her fiance, leans on her co-workers to help her come out of her shell and plot her revenge. Shankman, currently in post-production on Rock Of Ages, recently directed episodes of Glee and Modern Family.

In other pilot director signings, Michael Patrick Jann (Reno 911!) has been hired to helm Fox’s comedy pilot El Jefe (aka The Boss), also from Sony TV. Created by Moses Port & David Guarascio, it is about an upper-middle class 30-year-old guy who finally gets booted out of his dad and step-mom’s house and moves in with his cleaning woman’s family since he had nowhere else to go.
