Brittany Snow Cast In ’1600 Penn’
Bill Pullman will be playing a U.S. President again, this time on the small screen. The Independence Day star has been tapped to play President Dale Gilchrist in the NBC comedy pilot 1600 Penn, co-created by Josh Gad, Jason Winer and Jon Lovett and directed by Winer. Produced by 20th TV, it is a dysfunctional family comedy where the out-of-control oldest son (Gad) returns home and becomes not only it’s biggest liability but also the glue holding everyone together. The twist is that this family resides in the White House. Like his character in blockbuster Independence Day, Pullman’s President Gilchrist has military background — he is a heroic ex-Marine. On the cast, Pullman, repped by ICM, joins Gad and just-cast Brittany Snow as the First Daughter.

Former Marine Nellie!!!! He would be an ex Marine if he was dishonorably discharged…
Anyone remember “That’s My Bush”? I hope this will be as good as that.
Huh? Dennis Haysbert not available? Or any other black actor to reflect today’s reality. Guess execs believe viewers need a return to “normalcy”.
So every President should be black until the end of time? Why would Dennis Haysbert want to play the President again, in a comedy no less? Don’t be silly.
Or maybe Josh Gad co-created it and wanted to star in it and he didn’t think people would buy he’s Dennis Haysbert’s son.
No, that can’t be it. Gotta be racism.
You had me at “Brittany Snow.”
Fantastic Bill!
Now everyone in LA go see him in Beth Henley’s The Jacksonian, directed by Robert Falls, at the Geffen Playhouse – Ed Harris, Amy Madigan, Glenne Headly and Bess Rous are remarkable!
Is this single camera or multi? If this is multiple, I see it failing. Especially if it has a laugh track. But, as a single camera comedy, I bet it could be pretty funny.
