CBS has given a late pilot order to an untitled multi-camera comedy written by actors Larry Dorf and Ben Falcone and co-executive produced by Falcone’s wife, Mike & Molly star Melissa McCarthy. Falcone, originally not attached as an actor, will also star in the project, about a single 37-year-old man (Falcone) who loses everything he has in the real estate collapse and finds himself back home in the house he grew up in….with his parents. Warner Bros. TV is producing. The project was a last-minute spec buy by CBS made only 3 weeks ago. Falcone, who also had another comedy pilot script with McCarthy in contention at CBS this season, had a cameo in her blockbuster feature comedy Bridesmaids. This is the latest comedy pilot written/co-written by an actor this season where the actor is recruited to also star as part of the pilot order or shortly thereafter following recent acting deals for Josh Gad on NBC’s 1600 Penn and Mike O’Malley on Fox’s Prodigy Bully.

A guy moves in with his parents? Fresh idea, CBS. Fresh.
Two flawless films this year both celibrating the art of and history of film “Hugo ” all thumbs up and the Artist- a classic. taking book in vegas. Lisa
Isn’t this the exact same premise as another new show, except with a woman?
I love Melissa and Ben but I think CBS just saw the name ‘Melissa McCarthy’ and picked it up.
good to know a comedy about a 30 something returning home to live with his parents is FINALLY in development!
Retired at 35 (TVLand)is in it’s second season and has the same premise. Great show.
Not to mention another crap, quickly canceled tv show with Chris Gethard and Horatio Sanz that was on comedy central for a blink last fall–it was produced by Will Ferrel and Adam McKay..
Talented couple and 2 McCarthy pilots to CBS with one starring her husband. Good I guess but I get the feeling CBS is just trying to keep McCarthy happy.
CBS is over-exposing her right now and they just need to tone it down and allow her current show to ride smoothly a little more before going overboard with her.
It’s always a tightrope walk between overexposure and striking while the iron is hot.
They’re both brilliant & fearless in comedy – I have seen them at Groundlings many times. Ben is wickedly funny.
Can’t wait to see it,they are great together !! show more leg next time !
