CMT has given early second-season pickups to breakout new reality series Bayou Billionaires and My Big Redneck Vacation for a June launch. The move is a no-brainer as the two series debuted in January to record-breaking numbers and have become CMT’s two highest-rated original series in history. “Bayou Billionaires and My Big Redneck Vacation with Tom Arnold have energized Saturday nights on CMT and become runaway hits for the network,” said CMT’s EVP Jayson Dinsmore. The series are part of CMT’s push in reality TV after the network flirted briefly with original sitcoms. Bayou Billionaires, produced by Maglia Entertainment, tells the story of the hardworking and close-knit Dowden family of Shreveport, La. who recently struck it rich when the fourth largest deposit of natural gas in the United States was found on their property. The Pink Sneakers-produced My Big Redneck Vacation, hosted by Tom Arnold, follows the extended Clampet family as they experience the vacation-of-a-lifetime in the Hamptons. The location for Season 2 is TBD. Both series’ first-season finales air March 31.

I think it’s a great idea for a show. I moved fro California to Arkansas and found the change in culture to be wonderful
Please get it straight the 2nd. go-round. Cease listing the cast of the 2 reality series from Shreveport, Louisiana. They are from the rural communities of Frieson and Keithville, Louisiana . The lifestyle that is fabricated for these series is not descriptive of the lifestyle of the native Shreveporters. Ours is a fine city with friendly, conservative citizens who possess a higher lever of sophication. We are apalled to have our fair city’s name demeaned as the home of such blantant ignorance.
OMG people from Shreveport ARE NOT like you! You don’t sound like anybody from shreveport that would make it look all that great either….unless you like the stuck up, “sophisticated” crowd. Yuck. Be nicer, you will feel better.
I want to think you must be joking. I can’t imagine anyone sounding like you from Shreveport…and if there are people like you from here, I’m glad I don’t know y’all.
Way to go to my kids, nephews, nieces and grandkids on My Big Redneck Vacation! Hope you are having a great time doing Season 2. Can’t wait to see it and all the friends you’ve made along the way. There are definitely some “Shreveport friends” that could use a dose of what being southern really means. And what they don’t know is that you were born, raised and went to school in Shreveport so to the “sophicated friendly conservative Shreveporters” find yourself something else to talk about other than these law abiding – tax paying – hard working kids!
Love y’all and miss y’all much! Keep on having fun and making us laugh!
So the clampets re doing the 2season to
You should move to a rural community! And learn from the people because the ignorant here is you!
And also can’t spell…”Sophication”? I think you mean “Sophistication”….DA
Wow. “Blatant ignorance?” I’ve lived in Shreveport my whole life…I spent my teens in the “rural community” of Stonewall. I also noticed the mistake of the show by saying they live in Shreveport, but my concerns are different than yours. I am disappointed that Keithville/Stonewall/Frierson aren’t getting credit where credit is due for having genuinely nice, happy, and friendly people. I am of the opinion that Shreveport is being made to look better by the Dowden’s and the other families than it would if it were being judged because of people with attitudes like yours. You are right about Shreveport having “friendly, conservative citizens,” even if everyone isn’t as “sophisticated” as you, most are waaaayyyy more friendly than you seem to be.
Loved Redneck Vacation! Hope season 2 is as good. Bayou Billionaires was fun too.
My family and I were wondering when they were to be put back on the air and now we know
Thanks a lot!!!!!!!
The Minton Family in NC
It doesn’t matter where they are from!!! They are people and they are funny!I can’t wait for the 2nd season….
Tired of crime TV or SNOB or celebrity.
Those are down to earth show.Relaxing for a Saturday night.
CMT I’m from Paris(FRance)and those shows crack me up.Thank you.
I lived my whole live in Louisiana until 1989, when my family moved to Tennessee to find work. I love Louisiana and would move back if I could. The Billionaires is one of the greatest shows on TV, it reminds me so much of home.
Shreveport was never my favorite place to visit or shop. Some of the people (not all) acted like they were to good to speak to you.
I hope the show will be back on in the near future.
Much love to all.
