GOP presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Ron Paul on Thursday had backed out of the planned March 1 debate in Atlanta, and Rick Santorum had not responded. So CNN went ahead and canceled the event this afternoon, saying its debate in Arizona on February 22 moderated by John King will go ahead as planned. The Romney and Paul camps ciited conflicts with campaign schedules ahead of the eight-primary Super Tuesday on March 6 as reasons for not attending; only Newt Gingrich among the four remaining candidates had agreed to show up. It would have been the 19th televised debate this presidential election cycle among the broadcast and cable news networks.

I’m disappointed. Watching these corporate-bought Republican fools make asses of themselves on live television is far more entertaining than anything Hollywood is putting out.
You are so effing ignorant. Look at Obama and the rest of the democrat and they aren’t Corporate Bought. You Yanks on the left are going to destroy America and you won’t realize it until it has happened and then you will go “WTF happened.” Think for yourselves for a change. Read your constitution. I hear Romney couldn’t make the debate b/c he was busy strapping his dogs to the roof of the campaign bus and doing an all-city tour of Michigan.
That’s just what I heard, mind you.
The debates have been the best comedy on TV so far this year, however, if I was Santorum or Romney I wouldn’t participate either. Why bother? Just wait for the other two to drop out and then go one on one.
Can we just simply say overkill now? I mean, how many more of these things must we endure through before enough is eventually enough?
They should’ve just done it anyway, but with only Newt (on stage like usual, though, not interview-style on a sofa). He could’ve taken shot after shot at the three others and it would’ve humiliated the other candidate and made sure they would show up in the future.
That would’ve been entertaining. Oh well, as long as the sitcom continues I’ll keep watching.
