Weeds alumna Elizabeth Perkins is set to star opposite Sarah Chalke in Claudia Lonow’s ABC comedy pilot How to Live With Your Parents For The Rest Of Your Life. The multi-camera/hybrid comedy, from 20th TV and Imagine, centers on Polly (Chalke), a recently divorced single mom, who moves in with her eccentric parents, Elaine (Perkins) and Max, a couple who’s full of life but knows no boundaries. I hear that the role, originally written a bit older, has been reworked for Perkins. Perkins, repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment, got 3 pilot offers this season. In an interesting twist, her decision came down to How To Live With Your Parents and Lonow’s other ABC comedy pilot, Counter Culture. Perkins’ five-year run on Showtime’s Weeds earned her 3 Emmy noms.

Bravo! Perkins adds genius to whatever characters/shows she takes on. Match that with Sarah Chalke and I’ll be watching. Maybe won’t be a popular hit but could be a critical darling.
i agree. two of the funniest women on tv.
Am I the only one who watched Mad Love? It wasn’t just the writing that was awful. Sarah Chalke is a lovely person and i enjoy looking at her, but it was like watching paint dry every time she had a line of dialogue. without the jokey cut-aways and broad moments of Scrubs, she was DOA as a comedic actor. she should’ve tried a one-hour this time around.
Elizabeth Perkins is the best in the biz if you ask me.
I wouldn’t watch this at gun point but I like E. Perkins. I’ve always liked her. Ever since I saw her in that stupid Rob Lowe/Demi Moore movie back when Demi had much smaller tits.
No with that script. It’s a stinker. She should have done the other one. It’s funny.
This script is hilarious and Lonow is a class act. Great choice by Perkins. Will be watching!
I’m so excited for this show!!! The idea seems great and I love the cast members thus far. Can’t wait to see who’s cast alongside Perkins. Should be entertaining. Its about time prime time did some more cutting edge stuff.
She has a habit of choosing terrible pilots to be a part of…maybe it’s her agent. She still has so much ahead of her in her career and I see multiple Oscars in this woman’s future.
Yeah, “Weeds” was a terrible pilot, that’s why it got can— oh, wait.
I liked HOW TO LIVE. I though it was strong and funny. I’m very interested to see who they cast as Max.
I wish we were back in the 80s when Elizabeth Perkins was in classics, such as Big and About Last Night. A talented actress indeed.
