Former Friday Night Lights star Michael B. Jordan is re-teaming with the series’ executive producer Jason Katims. Jordan has been cast opposite Jason Ritter in Katims’ NBC drama pilot County. The Universal TV-produced project chronicles the lives of young doctors, nurses, and administrators in a frenetic underfunded and morally compromising LA County Hospital. Jordan will play one of them, Travis, a new intern at County who looks after his junkie sister’s daughter. Jordan, whose series credits include HBO’s The Wire, also recurred on Katims’ NBC series Parenthood. He currently stars in the movie Chronicle, which opened #1 last weekend. The actor, who was sought after this pilot season, is with UTA, the Schiff Co, and attorney Greg Slewett.

FANTASTIC NEWS. Very excited for this one. Hopefully after they film the pilot they can get back to work on the FNL movie!!
Also, Jordan and Ritter had multi-season guest starring roles on Katims’ other amazing yet low-rated drama “Parenthood”. Ritter was able to keep appearing during his stint on “The Event”, so hopefully his potential new role doesn’t subtract him from the Braverman clan for good…
He’s so talented. From The Wire to Friday Night Lights and his arc on Parenthood, he always delivers. Look forward to seeing him in this project.
Jordan is here to stay folks. A talented young man.
Happy for him – He’s a talented actor.
I’ve loved this kid since when he was on “All My Children”. He’s a great talent.
Love Michael and was sad for (Haddie) when (Alex) left Parenthood. Now, to learn that Jason (Mark) is leaving (Sarah) is just devastating. They are adorable. However, both actors are tremendous and will be great no matter what Good luck.
Happy for him, but was hoping he’d return to Parenthood down the road! I agree with the comment above – hope that Ritter is going to do double duty on Parenthood while shooting this new one.
Fantastic news! This guy is so talented — I hope to be watching him in more television and film roles!
