There’s a new international trailer for Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s return to the terrain he explored in the science fiction classic Alien. It’s making the web rounds on sites like Aint It Cool News. Harry Knowles says there isn’t too much new in this trailer, and while he has the geek cred, I have to say that while I would have seen it anyway, this trailer makes Prometheus a must-see. Fox releases the 3D film June 8, with Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Noomi Rapace, Patrick Wilson and Guy Pearce heading the cast.

Badass
Awesome, now BRING ON HARRISON FORD IN BLADE RUNNER 2!!!!
That’s how you make a f**king trailer!
This is looks electrifying. Guaranteed that’s the Derelict spacecraft touching down as Noomi runs from it terrified.
Wait, wait, wait… I thought Rothman says it wasn’t a prequel to “Alien”.
I see a lot more of just “strands of the DNA” that he claims are the only connection.
That’s how you do sci-fi! I’m looking at you Andrew (John Carter).
I. Dont. Get. It.
Then you are beyond help.
what’s the dif between this new trailer and the last one?
Exactly what I was about to say. The only difference is that this one shows less than the last one.
I have three words. Yes, yes, and (pause for dramatic anticipation) yes.
Finally some original content from H-wood! Ths looks totally epic!
yawn.
this is exactly like the old trailer minus the prometheus title being slowly revealed
Exactly my thoughts. Just more hyperbole from the studios trying (successfully?) to get us all worked up about their film.
It could have used a trailer for this trailer.
So. Excited.
Alien is totally awesome. But if this is PG-13, it will be castrated. And Ridley hasn’t made a good film since…Hannibal, 11 years ago.
Maybe it’s just me but I think the trailer blows. I love sci-fi and I yearn to see more original content but this trailer tells me nothing – just shows me a bunch of image – it’s more a mood book than a trailer.
Plus the helmets look stupid.
You, sir, are a tool. And clearly proud of it.
Michael Fassbender; Charlize Theron; Noomi Rapace; Patrick Wilson; Guy Pearce.
I’m pretty certain this line up of actors is probably the finest ensemble of talent I have seen in a single film for some time.
And you excluded Idris Elba because…?
Cool ! Looking forward to the film, the props, sets and ships will be awesome I’m sure.
Awesome trailer. They should just call it “Alien: Prometheus” that’s what it is and the Alien name is valuable it will add money to the total.
I get the feeling Fox Marketing’s mission was to give the impression this film will contain facehuggers and xenomorphs (aliens) but in reality it won’t.
I hope it’s great but I have this nagging sensation that it will be a disappointment.
You seem to have missed this weeks (more than 4 I guess) ago. Trailer looks identical to me, at least nothing new to see.
The cast alone makes it a must-see, but the trailer is indeed pretty good.
What’s with the extra almost 10 seconds blank screen at the end?
