Jack O’Connell (This Is England) and Alice Englert (Singularity) are in final talks to star in Warner Bros’ Beautiful Creatures, a supernatural love story based on the New York Times bestselling novel. Richard LaGravenese will direct from his adaptation. The film is a coming-of-age story set in the South about two star-crossed teenage lovers, local boy Ethan and mysterious new girl Lena, who uncover dark secrets about their families and town. Last week, Viola Davis joined to play Amma, who looks after Ethan and his father after Ethan’s mother’s death. Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove own film rights to all three books in the series published by Little Brown Books, including Beautiful Darkness and Beautiful Chaos. They are looking at Creatures to kick off a possible franchise at Warners, where Alcon has an output deal. Erwin Stoff will produce along with Kosove and Johnson and Molly Smith. Filming will begin in April in and around New Orleans. Englert is repped by CAA, and O’Connell is repped by John Grant at Conway, Van Gelder, Grant Ltd.

Viola Davis doing yet another role as the black woman who looks after white kids? Ouch.
I want to see her in something different!
Hollywood, you keep insulting the actors and the audiences.
Viola: you should have said no to that part.
I’m white btw, female.
I hope they don’t ruin the books by making the movie horrible.
no kidding. knowing hollywood, they will screw something up. they always do. hopefully they won’t try and change something from the book, such as adding in a scene that isn’t even in the book, as they have done for other movies.
Jack O’Connell is awesome. Anyone who’s seen seasons 3/4 of UK “Skins” can attest to that. Good for him.
good for them! i just looked them up on google and in my opinion they will be perfect!!! they are relatively unknown, besides Jack having been in UK’s Skins. glad to see some fresh new faces! i have really enjoyed this series so far and hope the make the movie just as good. hopefully they will stay true to the book, and won’t add in scenes or change things around………can’t wait to see the movie!!!
