John Stamos Circling Fox Comedy Pilot ‘Little Brother’
John Stamos has closed a deal to star in the Fox comedy pilot Little Brother. The actor has been actively involved in tweaking the pilot with its writer, Everybody Loves Raymond alum Mike Royce, and director Shawn Levy. The project, ordered to pilot in September, cast actor-comedian T.J. Miller as one of the two leads in November but had been having difficulties casting the other lead until it approached Stamos. The single-camera comedy, from 20th TV, Marty Adelstein and Levy’s 21 Laps/Adelstein Prods and Hat Trick, is about a man (Stamos) who finds out that he has a half-brother (Miller) he never knew who also happens to be an ex-con. Stamos, who had been eyed for multiple pilots this season, starred in the Super Bowl commercial for Dannon Yogurt’s Oikos brand, which has generated a lot of buzz, landing on a number “best of” lists. He is with WME and Brillstein Entertainment.

Wow, that TJ Miller is a star. I remember when nobody could give him the time of day. Oh, bout two years ago. Catch up fellas, a real star.
That Mike Royce is a good dude.
Why is this single-camera? Then again, why is “Up All Night” single-camera? What’s with networks doing single-camera projects with sitcom stars who are better in front of audiences, anyway?
Probably because the talent likes to get out in space and not always be confined to the same three places every episode. Some shows work for multi-cams and others don’t. Modern Family for example has too many locations to work as a multi-cam.
Sure, some shows wouldn’t work as multi-cam, but some shows don’t work as single-cam (sometimes more locations just detract from the storytelling). And some actors are just more appealing in front of an audience than the more sterile world of single-cam. Except CBS most of the networks seem to do single-cam by default even for actors who should be doing multi-cam.
It’s about time that John Stamos is on tv Hes a great Comedy and Drama actor and too goodlooking to pass up… Greeks should always be in the lime light!!!
Love John Stamos – he’s definitely major eye candy and it’ll be great to see him back on television.
John is always at his best in a comedy…can’t wait to see the twinkle in his eye again!
On “Entourage”, Drama tried to get Stamos to be in a sitcom in which they played brothers.
