EXCLUSIVE: Michael Stahl-David and Zoe Kazan have signed on to star in the sci-fi/romance indie In Your Eyes, which Brin Hill will direct from a script by Joss Whedon. Whedon’s Bellwether partner Kai Cole producing along with Night & Day Pictures’ Michael Roiff and David Rothernberg. The film is a described as a metaphysical love story about two seemingly polar opposites who are deeply connected in ways neither could have ever imagined.
Stahl-David stars as Dylan, a boyish-looking man who served time in jail for robbery when he refused to rat on his accomplices. Now, he is living in a trailer in New Mexico. Kazan stars as Rebecca, an attractive but skinny and slightly awkward woman, who is married to an older doctor and living in Connecticut. The two have a powerful connection, and they can hear and see each other, even though they have never met. The film will start production soon in Los Angeles and New Hampshire. Stahl-David made his feature film debut as the lead in JJ Abrams’ Cloverfield for Paramount, and last starred in ABC’s My Generation. He is repped by Management 360 and ICM. Kazan, who scripted the Jonathan Dayton-Valerie Faris-directed He Loves Me, is repped by Parseghian/Planco and Gersh.

Is it me or Zoe Kazan share a resemblance with Whedon alumn Summer Glau(Firefly, Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles)?
Summer Glau would have been perfect for the role imo.
She is the master of emotional, dramatic scenes. One only need to choose one of the many Summer shows or movies and watch a few scenes to realize this btw.
Good thing Joss is focusing on other things instead of continually butchering Buffy with those ridiculous comics. Now I hear that in Season 9 Buffy will get an abortion. Joss = TV’s George Lucas.
I think they will be in New Hampshire (different towns), not Boston.
Kazan looks nothing like Glau.
Agreed, but doesn’t she bear a strong resemblance to the girl who played Zoe on Caprica?
I thought that too! And it’s not just because of the character being named Zoe.
Zoe Kazan is an incredible actress. I was fortunate enough to see her play Harper in Angels in America. I’m also really loving Michael Stahl-David, after his work in the underrated Cloverfield. The only problem I see is that Kazan reads as MUCH younger than she actually is. Although this was actually beneficial for a role like Harper, I can’t see her playing opposite Stahl-David. That being said, Whedon is a genius and I trust any casting decision he makes.
TV’s George Lucas? Is that intended as an insult? Pretty sure there are a lot of people out there that would kill to be TV’s George Lucas.
It was clearly in a “keep messing with previous projects” kind of way. Joss is really talented (more so than Lucas imho) and Buffy still is one of my top 10 tv shows, but what I meant to say was that he needs to let that go and focus on the other great things he’s involved with, such as this movie. Not to say that he isn’t doing that, just that if he stops messing with what is already done he could give us a whole lot more.
I have to disagree. I thought Season 8 was way off, but Season 9 is turning out to be quite good. It’s crossing nicely with Angel & Faith, the stories are strong, and the abortion thing is playing well. You should actually check out Season 9 – it feels like the show.
My four children and I were lucky enough to be extras in a scene or two filmed yesterday at McIntyre in Manchester New Hampshire. I can not say enough about how wonderful everyone was that was involved in the production process. I am excited about about this film and can’t thank everyone involved enough for this once in a lifetime experience that my family was able to participate in yesterday. Thank You and Good Luck!
Am looking forward to the completion and release of this movie and hope that more movie makers, actors and actresses, etc.will come to New Hampshire and also to VERMONT to make movies and do other films, etc. Keep up the good work and thanks…
I had the opportunity to help out on the set yesterday, as well. I shuttled equipment back and forth, up and down the railroad tracks. I have to agree, they were a very nice group of people. First time that I’ve worked on a movie set and I was expecting alot more attitude.
Definitely looking forward to seeing it.
