In Plain Sight star Mary McCormack, has lined up her next series gig, playing the lead in Kari Lizer’s untitled ABC comedy pilot (aka The Unprofessional). The multi-camera comedy, from Warner Bros. TV, centers on Hilary Pfeiffer-Dunne (McCormack), a high-powered executive who, having dominated the corporate America for years, now faces the biggest challenge of her life when she finds herself unemployed and acting as a full-time mom to her two teenagers. McCormack segues to the ABC pilot from a five-year stint as the star of USA’s U.S. Marshal drama In Plain Sight, whose fifth and final season premieres on March 16. McCormack’s other series credits include The West Wing, Murder One and the HBO semi-scripted DC comedy K Street. She is with Gersh and Untitled.

Great casting! If this is picked up, I’ll be watching!
Mary was great as the wife of Howard Stern in the movie ‘Private Parts’. I just saw her in the movie ‘Full Frontal’ co-starring with David Duchovny and Julia Roberts.
Interesting actress. No affectation at all. Natural like-ability. Unless she’s doing comedy. Took me totally by surprise in “Boeing Boeing” on Broadway. Rocked the house every time she took the stage. A genuinely memorable performance.
USA cancelled IPS due to her psycho behavior. Showrunners: duck. She’s a nightmare.
Heard she is difficult. Very difficult. And funny??? mmmm….no.
Totally agree about MM in “Boeing-Boeing”. A truly brazen and hilarious performance. She really deserved her Tony nomination. Too bad about “In Plain Sight”. I thought it could have gone another 2 seasons, especially if they ditched the mother and sister characters. She and Frederic Weller were good together and the Albuquerque setting was a plus. Good luck to everbody on this pilot.
I’ll watch; but I’d rather that In Plain Sight would get the two seasons that the fans were promised
Once again, previous comments are unjustified. Mary McCormack is a stellar actress both on stage and her TV series In Plain Sight. I only just started watching the series last season and became instantly attached. She has a unique personality that makes her attractive from an unusual perspective. I like her. It takes a lot for me to attach to certain characters but I like her. She is rough around the edges but very moralistic and trustworthy. Very neat combination. I look forward to watching her in her new series!
I’ve known Mary since she was 11 years old. She has aged and matured beautifully. She isn’t difficult; but she is a perfectionist. There’s a difference.
First saw Mary in “High Heels and Low Lifes” with Minnie Driver. She was fantastic and it’s one of my favorite movies. The chemistry between the two women is terrific and I loved the plot. I don’t care if she’s difficult to work with. The result rocks.
