EXCLUSIVE: Michael Angarano (Haywire) has landed the lead in CBS’s single-camera comedy pilot from feature writer-director Nick Stoller (The Muppets). Stoller wrote and will direct the untitled project loosely based on his real-life experiences. It is a twentysomething ensemble comedy that centers on Jake (Angarano), a commitment phobic ad agency exec who, after breaking up with his girlfriend, realizes he has to continue working with her one cubicle away. Chernin Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV are producing. Angarano’s series credits include arcs on 24 and Will & Grace. He recently wrapped the features The English Teacher and The Brass Teapot.

Glad to see Angarano getting his chance in the spotlight. I was always impressed with him on “Will & Grace.” Especially when he always had to compete with Sean Hayes’s overacting.
That show sounds like it could be good. What’s it doing on CBS?
I think he’s such a great actor! He should be getting big roles over other mediocre actors his age (ahem Shia Labouf, Robert Pattinson, Garrett Hedlund). He’s cute too.
Another SML member headed for TV. Deadly three point shooter.
This kid is super talented…I wish him the best!
He’s a Great Actor!!! Funny and Cute~~~!!! Mikey~~~ Good Luck~~!!!! Go Mikey Go!!!!!
Super happy for him, he is one of the few actors in Hollywood who has remained humble and never complains, nice to see he walks around without bodyguards and is very normal.
Elizabeth, he does not walk around with bodyguards because no one cares about him. Do you fondly assume stars choose to walk around with body guards because they wan to not because of crazy fans that threaten them with bodily harm for silly reasons.
Sorry like Michael but that does not blind me to the thrush that he is just an average actor but he has been working so long with minimal successful results.
He does deserve his big chance and admire him for going the TV route for successful as the Movie route has not brought the type of high box office successful he must be looking for.
I wish him the best and hope this show does well.
Given his personal life, she should be able to pull off the required emotions but the summary seems too simple or rather overdone. Just my point of view.
He’s smart, he’s funny and he is talented….it’s about time!!!!! So excited for him!
Mikey is the sweetest guy in the world . Always has. Always will be. He’s been more than patient.. It’s his time now!!!
This is for the Coward, Dontwanttosay who boldy commented above.
I am so curious as to what YOU do for a living and to what standards you value “success”. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about and have not done your homework. Yes it is true that Michael has been working for a long time. He has worked with Meryl Streep, Fran McDorman, Cameron Crow , Lars Von Trea, Stephen Sodenberg, Jet Lei, Jackie Chan, and good golly the list goes on and on and on. He has done more movies than times you have said “God Bless You”, has done over 75 tv commercials between the young age of 5 to 9 yrs. Your comment, “minimal success” is HILARIOUS and you my friend are a jackass who has no business commenting on these sites! I have followed his career for the past 10 years and besides the fact that he is an ENORMOUS actor, he is a GENIUNE and OUTSTANDING human being. IF you know anything about Michael (and YOU MY FRIEND OBVIOUSLY DON’T, you know he engages in the projects he is passionate about-NOT FOR THE MONEY AND NOT FOR THE FAME. JACK ASS-GO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.
This artical has really taken me by surprise. I’ve followed Michael since seeing him in The Forbidden Kingdom in the UK. Joseph seems to be very outspoken for Michael, but I’ve got agree with him. I haven’t been following Mike as long as this (Joseph why aren’t you on Mike offical website)Michael is a terrific actor, and from what I’ve seen I can never understand why Michael’s isn’t in the top with other actors. Since his performances in Black Irish, Man in the chair and One Last thing Mike doen’t seem to have got the right part to reflect what I know, and others know he can fully acheivement. Going back to TV I hope will get him noticed, Michael Angarano deserves to be noticed and much more.
Yes its true. What I am saying is the reason is because Michael is a true and passionate actor. He is not in it for the money or for the fame. For him, its not about fame and popularity. Its about producing good work over and over again….which he has consistently accomplished.
Joseph Thanks for the reply. You’re a person with my feeling about Michael’s career in acting. He’s done some memmerable rolls, and although Gentlemen Broncos didn’t do well as a film, the roll he did with Benjamin Purvis was terrific. Those who haven’t seen this character are missing something very special.
Im really happy for him! He is a great actor. And Spain loves him
Completely agree with Joseph’s comments and especially talking about “for him, its not about the money or fame”. This is what the person on the street sometimes forgets. Fame for an actor is not always the main goal. Working on an inspiring, creative project that you are passionate about and being a true artist is one hundred times more rewarding than having your face and private life splashed all over the tabloids. Actors turn down lucrative projects all the time that they do not feel passionately about. I wish him all the luck in the world with this project and lets not forget that Nick Stoller is attatched. He’s a great down to earth guy and knows what he’s doing. Until you have walked in the shoes of an actor………
