Justified alumna Natalie Zea has joined Fox’s untitled Kevin Williamson drama pilot. The project, from Warner Bros TV, is a thriller about ex-FBI agent Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) who leads the search to catch diabolical serial killer Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) who has created a cult of serial killers. Zea will play Claire Matthews, Carroll’s ex-wife who finds herself in the middle of a nightmare when he escapes from prison. Zea, repped by UTA and manager Robert Semon, has been hot coming off 3 seasons on the FX drama Justified, fielding multiple pilot offers until settling on Kevin Williamson. Her series credits also include Hung and Californication. Zea is the second Justified alumna to book a broadcast pilot today. A few hours ago, Margo Mortindale landed a lead in the ABC comedy Counter Culture.
The Wire alum Robert Wisdom has been cast in ABC’s drama pilot Nashville. Written by Oscar winner Callie Khouri, directed by R.J. Cutler and produced by Lionsgate and ABC Studios, Nashville is described as a family soap about love, country music, family, politics and sex set against the backdrop of the Nashville music scene. Wisdom, repped by by The Kohner Agency and KLWGN, will play Coleman Caldwell, a charismatic candidate for the next mayor of Nashville. He was most recently seen in Rampart.

So, I guess this means Wynona is either going to die or leave Raylan? Thanks for the spoiler.
Or Natalie will just have two jobs.
Oh really smartass? 2 series regular jobs? Explain to me how that works contractually. Please.
Logic King never said anything about 2 series regular roles. IF this pilot is picked up she could still be a recurring character on Justified. So yeah, 2 jobs.
A series regular agreement can include carve outs for guest roles (e.g., doing a few “Justified” episodes) provided such guest services are subject to the series regular production schedules.
Good reps will get that out for actors with chops.
Hell, an average rep can get that for an actor with a pulse.
Or she and Raylan will get (re)married and live in domestic bliss that is far too boring to bother depicting on-screen. Not much of a spoiler, since anything is still possible.
But I live in hope that Raylan will be back on the market. Now, how do I turn myself into a fictional character and move to Kentucky?
This looks like a great lineup of talent.
Natalie Zea is unbelievably talented. She makes everythig better. I will miss her on ” Justified .”
Thank you, Natalie’s agent.
Congrats to Natalie! She’s talented and nice!
Many people die on Justified.
What great casting. Looking forward to seeing this.
Natalie is incredibly talented and entertaining. Will definitely be watching this one.
My best guess is that if Justified stays true to the books, Natalie will still be around on Justified as a guest star and we’ll get to see how Raylan adjusts to being a dad. However we all know that Raylan is not domestic…he doesn’t know how to be and as Wynonna pointed out if he was going to change his life for her and the baby, he would have done it already. I hope that a very long time from now when the series comes to a close…Raylan will finally be ready to be domesticated and end with him being with his true love and their child(ren). In the books they had two children =)
People do realize that FOX and FX are under the same umbrella corporation and one is a network series while the other is a cable series? I mean, depending on what happens to her character, she could easily start recurring on Justifed while working on the FOX series. Also, if the FOX series goes to series, there’s only going to be 15 eps (same as a cable series) per season due to Kevin Bacon’s contract. So again, could go either way with Zea. My prediction is she recurs on Justifed as she does a regular spot on the Williamson Project.
Still, though, the Williamson pilot is by far my most anticipated of the pilots — that and then CW’s CULT (even though I don’t watch CW’s shows besides the occasional Supernatural ep).
“fielding multiple pilot offers until settling”
that means she was available. she won’t be in justified season 4.
No it doesn’t since she settled on an offer with the shortest work schedule. She could be trying to do both.
I think they’ll work it out and she’ll be on both. Natalie’s not on every episode of Justified so if the pilot’s picked up she can go to recurring and still do the same job. Both shows are short seasons.
