Teen Weddings will follow several teen couples on their journeys to the altar and Thrift Wars will feature competitive thrift shopping, also known as “thrifting”. The pilots are the first of several expected to be announced in contention for Oxygen’s 2012 schedule and the first under new SVP Original Programming and Development Rod Aissa, who came from OWN last month. Here are the network’s loglines for the pilots:
“Teen Weddings (wt)” goes behind the scenes of America’s most provocative teen weddings. From rich kids to the new middle class, from Manhattan to the Midwest, this show follows several teen couples on a dramatic journey to their wedding days. Intercutting their stories, the show will trail these teens-in-love all the way from the stressful build up (the constant bickering between teen bride-to-be and teen groom-to-be, choosing the dress, arguing with mom and dad, repeatedly changing the guest list, planning the bachelor and bachelorette parties) to the big day itself, the crazy partying after the ceremony and finally a post-honeymoon catch-up. “Teen Weddings (wt)” is produced by executive producers Lisa Levenson, Simon Lloyd and Joe Houlihan for Cineflix.
“Thrift Wars (wt)” follows New York’s most elite and hardcore thrifters who are fighting on the frontlines of the city’s hottest treasure hunt. This is the world of competitive thrifting – a fashion movement that’s blowing up across the country. From thrift stores to flea markets, to secret warehouses and estate sales, these thrifters are in search of their daily fix and are willing to go to any lengths necessary to find that prized piece, score the deal and make a killing. The most competitive, passionate and expert players in the game will go head to-head in a real-life, organic thrifting competition to see who can make the most money. With vintage designer clothes and accessories showing up on the backs of A-list celebs, and providing inspiration for some of the fiercest collections on the runway, the market is hotter than ever, and so is the competition. Who will get the best buys and score huge profits and who will have to return to their shops with bruised egos and empty shopping bags? “Thrift Wars (wt)” is produced by executive producer Matt Sharp for Sharp Entertainment.

So they’re so desperate for attention that they’re making announcements for pilot greenlights. Come on and save it for series, this ain’t no scripted TV. Then again, it’s Oxygen and they got nothing going on.
If I have to read the word “Organic” in a pitch one more time I’m gonna hurl. This idea is about “organic” as McDonalds.
And coming soon to Oxygen, from the producers of “Teen Weddings” – “Early 20′s Divorces”
Don’t forget “Glassy-Eyed Sad Kidz” and “Methhead Cougar Stepmom”.
I just drew up a treatment for E2Ds (also came up with a catchy acronym) and registered it with the WGA.
Hands off, Oxygen!
Maybe they stole him from OWN just to get these projects…?
sounds a bit like “newlyweds” on BRAVO which has already been picked up and is currently shooting. The cast they found for bravo is fantastic, will be HUGE!…..I’m sure oxygen’s show will be a bit more trashy like their viewers….more “teen mom esque”
“Teen Weddings”? Christ, what’s next, “I Fucked My Cousin”?
No they fired Rod from OWN to get rid of these projects. Please, someone show some embarassement
Oh great. More reality crap to take jobs away from working actors. Oh wait. I don’t watch Oxygen. I don’t know who does either. Phew!
Love it! Can’t wait.
