A day after Cirque du Soleil’s one-off performance at the Oscars (pictured), Paramount Pictures has announced that it will release its 3D concert pic Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away on December 21, 2012, the Friday before Christmas. Deadline told you last month that the studio acquired worldwide distribution rights to the feature that Shrek and Chronicles Of Narnia helmer Andrew Adamson wrote and directed and James Cameron executive produced. Cameron and his tech partner Vince Pace oversaw the 3D work on the pic, which features performances from Cirque productions.
Also today, Paramount said it is shifting the release of its teen comedy Fun Size from October 12, 2012 to October 26. And the title of its road trip comedy My Mother’s Curse – starring Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen — has been changed to The Guilt Trip. Its release date remains November 2.

Congratulations to the Cirque and their team at CAA!
When I saw the O show in Vegas, it took my breath away! It was ” art in motion ” and they were brilliant! Beautiful artistry flying in the air….I loved the O show! Never saw anything quite like it! Last night when Cirque Du Solei came on during the Oscar, I got excited and felt my heart beating faster and thought that was a beautiful and bold and smart idea to integrate that into the Oscar! James Cameron is a genius and ” pure vision and imagination “! Good luck James! Hope this one will make lots of money! James Cameron is creme de la creme of the business!
I will go to see this one:)
The Mayans were right!
Yeah, read the script for the Cirque flick. Decent, a little slow, but at least it had some original dialogue, which is more than you can say for most productions in this town. Jonah Hill is circling the project right now, hope the shark bites so we can have a dynamo project. Congrats to Paramount and Adamson on the pickup. Let’s get Rudin in, too.
Looking forward to seeing Fun Size and The Guilt Trip in the theater.
Cirque du Soleil at movie theaters – minutes of enjoyment…
What are people thought’s on GUILT TRIP w/ Streisand. I hear it is testing well. Anybody got news to share ?
Very excited to see this. It’s gonna be beautiful!
