Pat Buchanan and MSNBC have officially parted ways. The veteran conservative commentator had not appeared on the network since October when he began promoting his book Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?. An MSNBC spokesman said, “After 10 years, we’ve parted ways … We wish him well.” Buchanan joined MSNBC in 2002 after two decades as a rotating host of CNN’s Crossfire. In the years since then MSNBC has tilted much further to the left. In January MSNBC president Phil Griffin said the ideas expressed in Buchanan’s book put forth “aren’t really appropriate for national dialogue, much less the dialogue on MSNBC.” Buchanan wrote today in an essay on the website for The American Conservative magazine, which he co-founded: “In the 10 years I have been at MSNBC, the network has taken heat for what I have written, and faithfully honored our contract. Yet my four months’ absence from MSNBC and now my departure represent an undeniable victory for the blacklisters.”

too bad..even though pat was a “conservative”, he always seemed to inject common sense and reasoning. he was great at foreign affairs. he did not always agree with repub party. he was a stand up kinda guy..msnbc loss..and i’m a liberal……msnbc thinks i’m a blog and wont even let me post anything, so what do they know?
Pat was a bigot and a racist in his heart. He couldn’t help himself sometimes and that just proved how unfit he was the be on the TV news. The odd thing is that many have regularly said more heinous things but they get to continue working. Pat’s epitath will be this and that is sad for a man who did have other accomplishments.
The left are constantly making worse statements on MSNBC and yet they continue to keep their jobs. Hell they have Al “sue whitey” Sharpton as a show host and they want to dump Pat Buchanan?? Get real.
Liberals are simply the most intolerant people on Earth, regardless of the hate they spew against others. They will never allow any opinion other than the ones they agree with. They then convince themselves that everyone actually agrees with them.
What a nice bubble they live in.
FOX is obviously conservative, but they allow liberals on to explain their positions and even have some liberal hosts. Liberals would never allow this.
disagree. msnbc has on way more conservative guests than fox news has on liberals. It’s likely Pat Buchanan wasn’t renewed on msnbc less because of his views, which weren’t always so far right, but the fact that he’s often inarticulate and unconvincing.
“Fox is obviouslt conservative”, how about Fox is a pure propaganda mouthpiece for the most conservative republicans. They have little to do with reality or news, more like gun powder for the blind nad ignorant. Yes, I have been a life long liberal and the trends that offer progress are mostly on my side.
SHARPTON YES,BUCHANAN NO!
The “Blacklist” lives.
Yeah. Those who hit on Fox forget that Fox has Geraldo and Juan Williams and Kirsten Powers and Bob Beckel and Alan Colmes on regularly but MSNbC cant even find a reason to keep Buchanan around. The fact is Buchanan was sometimes one of the biggest critics of the republicans and gave them some ‘fairness and balance’ – but i guess that is not what they were going after.
Always found him narrow minded and cranky. I am not a liberal, but I also thought his views were ugly.
Common sense and reasoning? I don’t think MSNBC thinks you’re a blog… they probably just think you’re nuts — and, oh, yeah, you’re a liberal. I’m a Stalinist.
Hey MSNBC, how about getting rid of hate-group leader Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council? Watching him slam gay people in the most bigoted ways possible, spreading demonstrably false lies about our community, is a little upsetting to say the least.
Next stop Fox News, where the dregs of humanity always seem to wash up.
So sad to see someone hanging on to personal racism and bigotary. As they said in my time, guilty dog barks loudest!
I find it rather ironi that liberals constantly preach acceptance of ours, yet they do not have the intellectual strength to hold an honest debate.
The only defense they have when they can not offer a fact based argument is to attack the conservative with unsubstantiated claims. If you are going to call someone a racist, provide specific quote with a time and date of the quote that is deemed to be racist. Otherwise, the unsubstantiated accusation is nothing more than slander.
Almost sad to see this provincial-minded racist asshole go..watching him have to defend his bigoted point of view, at times, made for provocative tv. He, his sister Bay, glenn beck, pill poppin’ Rush, Laura Ingram, Mitch McConnell, david duke, eric cantor, and Rupert
Murdoch should all join a bowling team..where once a week they have to take a big black ball, sling it down an alley to knock down large white pins..and they all have red necks!!
Pat was loosing command of the facts; current & past & was constantly
Being confronted by everyone. Unlike FOX, other news networks demand facts to back up statements. Guests, Right or Left need evidence on MSM. Pat will go on FOX where opinion is good enough for NEWS.
