EXCLUSIVE: Relativity Media is acquiring The Most Wonderful Time, a holiday comedy package built around a Steven Rogers script that has Robert Redford and Diane Keaton circling to star, and Jessie Nelson to direct. Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer will produce with Nelson. Kim Roth and Rogers will be executive producers.
Rogers, whose credits include P.S. I Love You, Kate & Leopold and Stepmom, this time focuses on the chaos of a family around Christmastime, featuring storylines with multiple characters that intersect. Rogers wrote the project on spec and brought in Nelson, who last directed I Am Sam, and the project was packaged with Redford and Keaton.
Relativity Media is in the midst of optioning the script before beginning to make the other deals. Rogers describes it as an ‘Amelie-esque story about people who live for the future or hang onto the past, which prevents them from living in the moment, and not appreciating what is right in front of them.” Nelson’s repped by WME, Rogers is repped by ICM. Keaton is repped by WME and Redford by CAA.

Redford, Keaton and Amelie-esque should NOT be used for the same picture.
So glad the guy responsible for those films plus Hope Floats is still getting work.
You are absolutely right!
Agreed. And… Rogers should really refrain from the comparison. I strongly doubt that the writer of Stepmom and PS I Love You can produce something as original as Amelie.
Relativity, is there any way that you can still get out of this?
Agreed. The cost of Mr. Redford’s hair is into the seven figures.
No one wants to see Robert Redford.
I do.
Me, too.
It will pass …..
The rest of America doesn’t.
I wanna see Redford back on a horse.
when is he going to do another western?
Oh I totally Disagree!First And Foremost,as an Actor,Director And Producer, not to mention ,Founder Of The Sundance Film Festival,Robert Redford Is Just as Relevant Today, as When i First Became of His Work, Many years Ago, Are You Perhaps thinking,His Talent Has Deminished?i Can Assure You ,it Hasnt,if anything, his in sight and skill, have sharpened, and become more focused as time has passed.he isnt the Golden Boy, and in reality he never was,he is an artist ,who always tried to play against type anyway ,his catalogue of work has certainly made him a fan favorite, and as an actor, ive certainly admired his ability,if you cant get passed his looks thats your problem, but i for one certainly look forward to his forth coming roles ,he has one coming out in May,and this film if he does it,
There’s so few movies made about ‘with-it’ older people (who aren’t pathetic) that this could be a good creative opportunity.
Really? A good creative opportunity? I guess according to you we do we need another Stepmom, Hope Floats or PS I Love You
No one will see this movie since it will never get made. Relativity is going under. Everyone there is looking to bail.
I agree, what a wonderful opportunity to have another great feel good movie with two legends. The world needs more positivity and joy instead of the death and dark films that keep getting made. I am a filmmaker and producer in hollywood and think we need more support for our peers then hoping that a movie will fail. Let’s have support each other!
I feel sorry for all the keyboard warriors who’s hearts are filled with so much hate, they feel the need to spread their virus through out the world.
Personally, I would like to have another Diane Keaton Christmas movie- but hope her character does not die in this one like in The Family Stone. I watch my favorite holiday movies every year and that movie ending is not really very cheerful!!!
