While not quite as revelatory as, say, Peter Jackson’s 10-minute+ digital missives from Hobbiton, Sam Mendes here presents a 90-second videoblog from the set of Skyfall. The new 007 director waxes on his own Bond nostalgia and there are even a few glimpses of filming (Daniel Craig stalking in a glass building, a baggage claim carousel, the streets of London…). Interestingly, the British veteran Mendes notes this is the first picture he’s ever shot in England. Video below:

Guaranteed this will be the worst Bond movie ever with Mendes at the helm. The only noise this movie will make when releases is ker plunk!!
Worse then The Man with the Golden Gun?! Try changing your name to The Lie.
Hit all the way.
Due to budget cuts, it’s also one of the rare times they’ve had to film almost exclusively in England.
Oh yes, “Comment by the truth” — Mendes has made some real stinkers… the Oscar wining American Beauty and Road To Perdition, etc… Don’t remember seeing any film credits by your name, but hey, I’m sure you know what you’re talking about.
My biggest problem with Sam Mendes is I cant understand what language he’s talking in — is that American with a weird affected accent?
This movie is going to be in contention for top 5 Bond films at the very least. To see this much intelligence come to bear on the Bond franchise is as exciting as when Nolan took on Batman.
Could be great, could be a dud – all depends on the script and intensity of the characters. Good cast and Mendes is there to execute as the director. Let’s hope he doesn’t go “arty” on all of us Bond fans!
