The common link? Both sketches were awful.
Comedey show? More like a Disaster Movie. They should do a skit where he’s at a Hollywood $35.800 per plate fund raiser called, “The Rich pay their FAIR SHARE”. They could get Fallon to star in it, he’s been to a Obama fund raiser in NYC.
Yeah because no president has ever had an expensive fund raiser before, whatever.
Yes, black people voted for Obama — and will do so again — just because he’s black. Bravo. BTW, voting for someone just because he’s black is just as racist as not voting for him just because he’s black.
You just made that argument?
To quote an SNL sketch…“Really?”
You would be so, so wrong with that assumption.
If you vote for Obama because he is black has nothing to do with whether you see black as superior to white — which is the premise of RACISM. Honestly, are you really that dense?
RACISTS vote for someone who is white because they believe whites are superior. And they act on their beliefs. That’s the definition of racist, you moron.
Haters gonna hate. I thought the Hows He Doin’ skit was hilarious.
Super-cute and funny. Both sketches! Though Santorum could get a little love for being Christian as most Black folks are.
Maya Rudolph is terrific! Spot-in Cosby impression.
Entertainment is the way into the hearts & minds, y’all!
The same crap that keeps me from watching SNL at all. It just is not funny and certainly is lib propoganda.
It’s kinda hard to call it liberal propaganda when they are essentially making fun of the fact that black voters will vote Democratic no matter what.
IMHO, the funnier but spot on skit was the opening one about how racist the sport commentators are when it comes to Jeremy Lin – and apparently true re ESPN’s debacle this weekend.
And it is absolutely imperative for any black person to vote for Obama – until racism is defeated it is your responsibility – it is very clear to all of us in other countries that the white majority in the USA is SO disrespectful of him it is shameful.
Good grief that was painfully awful.
NBC = Nothing But Crap
Lib propaganda? They skewered the Obamas royally. Plus through comedy they brought up a unique social question. What are the underpinnings of why you vote the way you vote? Do you really examine that before you walk into the voting booth? Will a vote for Obama genuinely help the black people who pull the lever for him? Will a vote for Romney or Santorum genuinely help a white clerk at Wal-Mart? I say no to both.
The theory or conclusion that he consistently leads you to is that a vote for Obama corrects over two centuries of racial injustice thereby prodding you (through an unspoken subliminal encouragement of ethnic solidarity) to vote for an unverifiable theoretical conclusion you’re supposed to draw.
What’s that got to do with you…in your life…now…feeling good about your contemporaneous circumstances?
It’s something of a con to people who are actually breathing at the moment.
It’s an unconscious baiting of aspirational rhetoric rigged toward a common vanity of aspirational ancestry rendering current VERIFIABLE political results to a leveled irrelevant – let YouBot 3012 cast their own vote at the appropriate moment – you’ve got your own questions and concerns for yourself, your family, your neighbors.
People, like, you actually know.
Not people hundreds of years from now.
“Winning the Future,” etc. Like, many Americans would have to win the lottery to have a shot at a nice life and the potential for upward mobility.
(It’s as though he hasn’t had anything to do with those current circumstances; that’s the subliminal brain pan tool kit utility belt he resorts to. Maybe a singular and clear SHELLACKED is the better word choice.) And he’s using ethnic peer pressure on his own behalf in order to accomplish his own goals – some concealed I might contend – not (necessarily) yours.
Well, like…
Such thinking is endemic in red states and up-for-grabs states as well potentially impacting how a Wal-Mart clerk might vote for a hedge fund guy who reduced him/her TO a Wal-Mart clerk just so your family could have medical coverage…for the price of a minimum wage job… because the hedge fund will make more money if they set up Swiss bank accounts and export jobs overseas.
Although it’s treated as such by post-modern politics I don’t think a vote was ever supposed to be treated by the candidates to be like a scan-able bar code.
At the moment the horse race looks like : Ivy League Blacker Than Thou Knows What’s Best for You vs. Ayn Rand finance egg-head patrician vs. an arch-conservative Ken doll. (Albeit sincere in his beliefs; I don’t agree with his beliefs at all, but he’s sincere in those beliefs, and that’s what people are responding to – the sincerity of those beliefs.) In terms of money (or story) he’s playing “The Little Engine That Could.” (Frankly that’s right out of the Obama playbook…but without the dough.) True to the story he’s making more than a little dent in the G.O.P. primaries. I believe those are the reasons why. Having nothing to do with his political convictions Romney rings false or disingenuous by comparison.
Here’s an operative question : if Reggie in a rage borrowed Archie’s sweater vest; and raped Betty to avenge Veronica’s affection toward Archie; and got Betty pregnant to get some because Veronica wouldn’t give him any (and yet he didn’t want to get on Mr. Lodge’s bad side) – should Betty have that baby if all she ever wanted was a family with Archie?
My opinion : In the final analysis Betty should have a number of safe healthy options; and whatever decision she makes it’s her decision exclusively. She shouldn’t be mocked; criticized; or derided about such a private matter.
Riverdale. Turn it upside down and it’s Peyton Place as if Big Ethel didn’t know all along.
snl this week i laughed quite a lot/maya was great as beyonce;however , the disney channel has funny shows on all day every day.great clothes too.!!!!!
You just KNOW this skit should be titled “How he be Doin’?”
