This is nothing new – Star Wars is not even the first RealD 3D film this year to come with freebies.
I think it’d be funnier if he offered a blu-ray of the original cut of Star Wars as the prize.
I remember the buzz and excitement in the air when the special editions of Star Wars films were released in the 1990s.
I don’t sense anywhere near that excitement for this 3d release.
There was SO much wrong with the prequels. I long ago bought DVD copies of the laserdiscs for the original 3 and have ignored anything & everything that Lucas has rehashed, re-issued, etc. I appreciate his early genius, & I’m sure he’s a nice enough fellow, but enough was enough a LONG time ago.
Poor George he no can help it he like me he think me the greatest character he ever created ever me so funny me so popular me so likable but only George like me why nobody else like me?
Hardly call it a bribe. Those are hardly cool enough to get people into seats. Personally I wish more theaters and distribs did this kind of stuff. You would think with movies now as an excuse to sell toys they would.
If JarJar is the only thing wrong with this film, then I say well done. I grew w the franchise like a lot of people and I think newer episodes are solid!
Save your $9 and watch the Red Letter Media review of Episode I. It says more than anyone ever could about the film and its impact on popular culture.
I agree 100%.
It astounds me that how 13 years after the fact those who dislike Star Wars can act so inconvenienced by the existence of Jar Jar Binks and other elements. The topic line of this non-story was tailor made to attract people like me to come and feel annoyed by the hate.
You hate Jar Jar. You ridicule him. You abuse him. And in the process you do exactly the same thing that the characters in the film do to Jar Jar…. Look down on him and treat him as “less than human” because he’s different. This is why Jar Jar is there. He’s the outcast. The nerds, like myself, who call themselves Star Wars fans, have a lot of gall ridiculing Jar Jar for being nothing more than a nerd. How does it feel when people don’t understand your love of Star Wars and look down on you for it? Not very good…
