EXCLUSIVE: Lost and Sons Of Anarchy alum Titus Welliver is the first actor cast in NBC’s drama pilot Midnight Sun. The thriller, based on an Israeli format, follows the mysterious disappearance of Midnight Sun, a group living on a cult-like commune in Alaska, and a female FBI cult specialist leading the investigation that uncovers a larger conspiracy. Welliver will play Bennett Maxwell, the charismatic and manipulative leader of Midnight Sun. The always in-demand Welliver, repped by Paradigm and Leverage, has recurred on CBS The Good Wife and CSI, played a key role in the pilot of Fox’s new Kiefer Sutherland midseason drama Touch and is currently seen in the feature Man On A Ledge.
New York stage actor Colin Donnell, who made his series debut in an arc on Pan Am this season, has been cast in the CW drama pilot Arrow, a modern retelling of the story of DC Comics character Green Arrow that stars Stephen Amell as the vigilante superhero who fights crime using archery, martial arts and technology under his secret identity as Oliver Queen, a wealthy playboy and billionaire industrialist-turned-outspoken politician in Star City. Gersh-repped Donnell will play Tommy Merlyn, Oliver’s best friend, a playboy “trustafarian” who assumes the good times will roll again now that Oliver has returned, only to learn Oliver is a changed man.

Midnight Sun sounds worryingly like The Event and a myriad of other Lost wannabees that came and went quicker than the Smoke Monster (hello, The River!) but if Welliver’s playing the lead, I’ll definitely check it out.
Uffff…. Colin Donnell makes me all the more exited for Arrow, and I think he fits the role perfectly, especially because it looks like Tommy will be a villain
Always great to see Titus Welliver in something- been a fan since Gone Baby Gone and Deadwood
Titus is a serious hunk and I would follow him anywhere. Rarrrrrrrrrrr!
