Bullet To The Head is from Joel Silver’s Dark Castle, and Warner Bros is aboard to distribute and market it only — maybe making it easier to move around than a studio-produced movie. But the Sylvester Stallone-starrer won’t be released on April 13, 2012 as planned. It is a full weekend for releases, with Fox’s The Three Stooges and Lionsgate’s The Cabin In The Woods also set for that Friday. Bullet, based on the French graphic novel, is directed by Walter Hill and centers on a hitman (Stallone) who forms an alliance with a cop to exact revenge on the killer of their respective partners. Jason Momoa, Sung Kang and Christian Slater co-star. Stallone won’t have to wait long to hit big screens though: The Expendables 2 comes out August 17.
In other Warners news, the studio has changed the title of its Will Ferrell-Zach Galifianakis comedy from Rivals to The Campaign. The release date for the Jay Roach-directed pic remains August 10, 2012, right in the heat of the presidential election season.

This movie may or may not suck, but OMG! Stallone is freakin’ RIPPED. He’s a 65-year-old man. Look at that picture! Who has a body like that at that age?
Someone on steroids.
Still have to do the work to get like that, dude!
There are little tricks in the movie world to make you look ripped.
The buzz on the lot is the movie’s very good, they want a fall date to follow Stallone’s summer picture.
How good could it be? It’s a Stallone film.
Absolute B.S. to NA… the buzz is that the film is damn near unreleasable. Shooting script is pure garbage and they went cheap on everything except for Stallone’s fee. If Expendables 2 tanks, which it should with its PG 13 rating, this will (and should) go straight to DVD and hopefully Stallone can go back to being irrelevant again.
Yeah, but Tellin’ — it’s Walter Hill, for cryin’ out loud. Hill has made great movies. Hill has made bad movies. Hill has made movies in between. But it’d be pretty stupid to bet against the guy, particularly since his last project, the TV movie BROKEN TRAIL, was pretty damn terrific, and his last feature, UNDISPUTED, was very good also (and would’ve been better by far without Harvey Weinstein having at the release print with a pair of garden shears).
the light at the end of the tunnel is that we’re talking about a walter hill movie. stallone may actually be watchable.
Rambo and Rocky were both sad, lost puppies that just happen to be violent warriors. When Stallone loses that sad, reluctant hero aspect, well, he’s just a guy with a gun. Boring. His character in Expendables 2 is right in line with Rambo & Rocky & will do well. This one might just eeek by. FYI: Cheap is the only way to make these types of films anymore, especially with leading men over the age of 60, dwindling video sales and suspersized ($100million) competition.
Really? Irrelevant? Your nuts. He’s relevant each and everyday. Get therapy, ya busted coat zipper.
I’m sorry, but Expendables was a POS of a film yet it made bank and surprised everyone. Bullet won’t win an oscar but it will make money. The trailer is bad @$$… it’s a good piece of mid-level business. Don’t under-estimate today’s audiences. They are less demanding than you think.
Wait, where is this badass trailer you speak of?
What’s with his stupid shoulder tattoos? They’re real and they’re hideous.
give me a break. You hate Sly, that’s fine. But the guy had a forty year career, two of the biggest franchises in film history, and his last three movies were hits. You have to travel to some really far flung places to find people who don’t know him. You should be so “irrelevant”.
You don’t see a picture getting pulled very often. Redated or dumped in a different date, sure, but rarely pulled. How did IM Global let this happen?
Not sure why anyone would hate on Sly, he’s the king of what he does….kicking ass in action flicks. If you can’t handle a loud, violent, shoot ‘em up, man-movie, go watch Harry Potter or something. Stallone is an icon.
Nobody wants to see his old ass.
This is a tragic mistake by Warner Brothers, turning their backs on movie-going public that is desperately hungry for more Stallone and Christian Slater.
This one might be interesting, and a nice way to salvage the train wreck The Expendables 2 is shaping up to be. I can’t believe the studio thought it would be a good money making move to release the only hardcore action movie as a PG13 family film. It looks to have the opposite effect and will probably tank the movie. The buzz on that thing just sucks.
BTTH might be good since Hill has made some good ones.
Stallone always takes the majority of the budget for his wallet. As long as there’s a golf corse close to location, he doesn’t give a sh#@ how our movies turn out. I’m 50 yards from the water tower and I can tell you Bullet to the Head needs exactly that…. to be put out of its misery.
have you seen the movie?
Please – if you’re in a position to really have seen the trailer – tell the powers that be to get it tf out there!! Us Walter Hill fans are dyin’ of thirst..!
There’s only two reasons why a studio would make such a dick move. One, they haven’t finished filming yet since Sly is doing this, Expendables 2, what ever film he’s doing with Ex-Govenator. Two, the have the reshoot it cause the responses they got from early screenings(If their was any) were negative and decided to scrap it, reshoot it, or worse, slap it onto DVD. What ever the studio decides to do, we won’t find out for a while.
