Expect the cable news networks to pick up on Whitney Houston’s private memorial service Saturday. BET News and Centric will broadcast live coverage of the services beginning at 8:30AM PT/11:30 ET. Immediately following the service BET will air a one-hour original special BET Remembers Whitney. The Associated Press reported today it will have the only camera in Newark’s New Hope Baptist Church for the service, with footage from its live stream, at http://livestream.com/aplive, available to media outlets via satellite. The funeral is set for noon locally and is expected to last 90 minutes before Houston is laid to rest in Westfield, N.J., at the same cemetery where her father is buried. There is no plan so far for a public service for the iconic singer and movie star, who died Saturday at the Beverly Hilton at age 48 the afternoon before the Grammy Awards.

A feature length show streaming live to network TV… sounds very private.
Beyond tacky.
And anyone who streams a funeral for entertainment value needs to take a good hard look at themselves in the mirror.
What next? Instead of burying her, selling her parts on Ebay to the highest bidder?
Definitely the next step.
I hooe for Whitneys daughter sake the media will let her rest in peace
Welcome to the Age of New Media!
Perhaps this will be the new trend in weddings, funerals and bar mitzvahs. Why go to all the trouble (not to mention, the expense) of coordinating a huge event when you can simply stream the event live? That way, no one has to buy suits or dresses; no has to spend money on catering; no one has to book a reception hall; no one has to buy and coordinate decorations; no one has to hire an event coordinator. And forget about the band!
Hey, maybe online viewers will be able to comment on the festivities.
yes, they’ll tweet about it!! damn shame!!
Really now!? This is the last private moment for the family and its going to be televised for millions… At least the taxpayers of LA won’t have to front the cost for an extra thousand police officers like the MJ memorial.
Although I doubt that ABC, CBS or NBC will carry the funeral across their entire respective networks, I suspect their New York flagship stations will carry it since Whitney Houston grew up across the river in New Jersey.
Tomorrow is the day that they bury Whitney Houston’s body. What about her soul? They’re making a bid to-do about the body her soul dwelled in but very little is spoken about her soul. Her singing and dancing will do no good for her soul. God is not moved by one singing and dancing, but by believing in the Word of God. All the songs she sang was not for the benefit of getting one’s soul right with God. Her religion doesn’t even know who God is. Matter of fact, they believe in 3 gods. What a wasted life she led, living on God’s earth void of the understanding of who God is and what God wants. No one in the Bible ever taught anyone to sing and dance. Whitney Houston pleased the world but Jesus said his way is not of the world. God’s people are called to defend God’s Word because the devil is trying to destroy the Word of God by setting up thousands of false religions all over the world. Whitney Houston never preached against the false religions or against the devil. What about drugs? Is that the work of God or the work of the devil?
