EXCLUSIVE: When CAA hired football agent Jimmy Sexton last year, he brought in potential marketing powerhouse Tim Tebow for endorsements. But now the Denver Broncos starting quarterback has hired rival Hollywood agency WME for all off-field activities: public appearances, speaking engagements, TV, film, books, the works, even his foundation. With his unorthodox football skills, very public religious devotion, and incredible team success (they made it far in this past season’s playoffs), Tebow has attracted tons of praise, criticism, and attention from the sports world and national media. His NFL sports jersey is a bestseller. And his persona has already been lampooned on Saturday Night Live.
He played college football at the University of Florida, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and appearing on BCS National Championship-winning teams in 2007 and 2009. After graduating, he was drafted by the Broncos as the 25th overall pick in 2010. Tebow is known as a dual-threat quarterback, adept at both rushing and passing. Plus he’s eye candy.

“First, I’d like to thank my lord and savior Ari Emanuel…”
Watch Tebow convert Ari- Brother Emanuel. LOL…
The guy already looks like Superman…with the heart of a Clark Kent.
For Tebow’s sake hope he has watched all episodes of “entourage”.
So funny… I was looking for a Scripture to address people who mock Christians and all I could find was:
“Whoever corrects a mocker invites insult; whoever rebukes a wicked man incurs abuse” -Proverbs 9:7, and Prov 3:34 which says:
“The LORD mocks the mockers but is gracious to the humble.”
Forgive me for even thinking it!
Do not mock God or His Son, Jesus! Your soul is in danger!
Quick! Attach him to a movie and see if he can auto-tune his way through a song or two.
Play the “Madonna Gambit” good call!
Eye candy?? Ewww, not at all.
Michelle, he’s definitely eye candy.. hot!
Michelle You must be blind he’s super hot and classically handsome in face and body. You have something against white men?
Michelle must be legally blind. Tebow is SO handsome. And, he’s not pretty boy handsome. He’s manly man handsome. The man’s profile is a thing of beauty. And, he’s got these huge blue eyes. And, his body! Omg. Check out his shirtless GQ pics. Incredible. Literally drool worthy.
Michelle, moving to Maryland anytime soon?????
Everyone who goes hollywood goes nutz.
Tebow will not be lured down by the golden calf. Go Tebow, give them a ” come to Jesus” meeting they wont forget.
ye haw chris dodd take dat
Being “eye candy” should qualify him as a triple-threat quarterback!
I know there was someone in the Bible who said, when you pray, do it in secret. No, wait, that was Jesus.
It also said “When you want to tell someone to get the splinter out of their eye, you need to get the plank out of your own eye first.” Hypocrite.
It didn’t say to ONLY pray in secret. Remember: Daniel was arrested and thrown into a den of lions because he prayed in public. And, of course, Jesus himself prayed in public (as did his disciples).
Of course, I suspect that you have an ulterior motive behind your comment.
Your crazy. Jesus never said that. Why the hell would the churches pray as a group? Stop making up stuff. The bible says pray in numbers to increase the power of your prayers
Hmmm…that same Jesus DID pray in public, like when he was in front of Lazurus’ tomb.
Jesus also said: “I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God, but whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God. ” Luke 12:8-9
Funny how some people will pull a verse from the Bible out of context to make a point. It was also Jesus that said “he is ashamed of me before men I will be ashamed before the Father in Heaven”.
Just goes to show you that the Bible is a paradox.
This is very true, but you are taking this completely out of context. Jesus was referring to the pharisees and other religious leaders that were themselves seeking praise from other Jews. These Pharisees were putting on a show of being HOLY to win the praise of other believers. Tebow is making a statement telling the world, there is a God and Tebow will take the time to praise Him and give God the credit for his success. Tebow is doing this in front of a world that mostly rejects God and ridicules such praise. Again this verse about praying in private is completely taken out of context. Bible 101.
Obviously, you can take Matthew’s gospel out of context. Jesus was talking about the hypocrisy of those whose INTENT is to attract attention to themselves. If you read Proverbs, you would know that we are to acknowledge God in all our ways. So, is he acknowledging God, simply trying to draw attention to himself, or (gasp) putting God first in his life. If you think you are in a position to judge his heart, you are a fool.
I love it when idiots claim the Bible says not to pray in public. They cherry-pick bits from the Bible to A) attempt to make yourself look better, b) attempt to make Bible-believing Christians look worse, and / or c) attempt to make yourself feel better spiritually. While I can’t speak to the whether they feel better spiritually throwing around their claims, I can attest that they fail horribly on the first two counts.
If you take the time and put out the effort to actually read the surrounding verses to understand the context of what Jesus said and are capable of applying maybe a 2nd grade reading comprehension level to what you read, you would realize that Jesus was talking about those who make a big scene showing off their (alleged) faith. He’s saying that those who make big scenes get immediate earthly rewards (in the form of the attention they desire), but those who live out their faith in quiet, humble, non-attention-demanding ways will receive much greater rewards in Heaven.
Tebow has never demanded attention be given to his prayers or him praying. The only difference between him praying during a game and someone on an assembly line who takes a quick moment to pray for safety is that there are tons of cameras around and huge audiences viewing what those cameras record. Tebow doesn’t make a big show out of it by demanding camera time or room or his own special place to pray. He just takes a few moments to himself during the game to talk to God. End of story.
So…stop your whining and intolerance. He isn’t forcing his faith on you. And he has the legal right to pray whenever and wherever he chooses. If that hurts or offends your precious little feelings, tough…deal with it.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!
I think you are confusing Paul with Jesus.
Or George with Paul, or Ringo Maybe….
That was because he was trying to avoid Crucifixion….
Its utterly impossible to be a Christian and not be public about it.
The young woman Tim Tebow marries is going to be one lucky lady!
He’s tall (6’3″), good-looking,well-built, smart and is saving himself for marriage. Add lots of $$$ on top of all that and wow, he is a catch.
And he’s a right wing nut job
He is?
In what manner?
All the charity work he does?
The way he reaches out to those that are sick?
Please explain!
“b” is referring to Tebow believing in life over abortion, I guess that makes him a “nut job”. Irony rules!
The guy did a focus on the family commercial against abortion during the Super Bowl.
He DID NOT do a commercial AGAINST abortion. He did a commercial THANKING his Mother for having him even though she was advised not to. Watch the commercial. It doesn’t say anything about being against abortion anywhere in the commercial. I do think it is good guess that he is against abortion but that commercial was not “anti” anything.
He believes in God, silly. There’s no tolerance in society for any of that.
Although he’s never indicated his polital views, he has the traits of a conservative. The voluntary use of his own time and resources to help others -a personal decision made from his heart -to help others, would fall into your “right-wing-nut” title. Clearly you feel that someone who would do this without the government forcing you to, must be a “nut”. I would ask you, what do you do “out of love” to help others?
Nice response, anonymous!
Tim would not mind being called a right-wing nut-job…he’s bananas for Jesus.
I doubt that he would feel any need to respond with any name-calling, too.
Facts:
Jesus was NOT a Christian.
Jesus is NOT mentioned in the Original Bible, only the New Testament that was created by cobbling writings of people claiming to have known Jesus. There is nothing in that book that was written by Jesus … Everything supposedly known about Jesus has been put forth from heresay evidence.
Claiming Jesus is the Son of God is a violation of the First and Second Commandments.
and that makes him more attractive.
Thou salt not covet thy neighbor…get over it, Poser, you’re jealous of his success…Luciferians really hate people that give God all the glory.
What, exactly, is nutty about Tim? He’s a very nice guy, a charitable guy and a humble guy. I guess that makes him nutty. He’s gorgeous, has an incredible body, is filthy rich and a stud football player. And, when he does get married, she’s going to be gorgeous, too. Jealous?
I agree he is probably conservative since he believes in real charity, not the forced redistribution of my money by the government punks.
So now we know the intellectual potent of ‘b’. Probably wont be hearing much from her again soon.
pam..i bet your his perfect match
All that’s left for Timmy is the trophy wife.
Admit it Christians you been pnked.
There is a big difference between a liberal “trophy” wife and a conservative “honorable” wife. Tebow could probably get either one but don’t bet on her being the “trophy” wife. You’re thinking of shallow Brady.
“Adept” at passing. HAHA, somebody doesn’t really watch pro football now do they. Tebow is NOT a good passer and in fact could loose his starting position next season.
Learn to spell – it’s “lose” not “loose.” Like your comment is a “loser.”
Tebow had the highest yards per reception (and attempts) for ANY QB in a PLAYOFF game, against Pittsburg (the #1 rated defense in the NFL) last year. I would not call that a bad passer Mr. Hater.
Tebow is great in so many ways…and, he also could KEEP his starting position next year!! In reality, though, football does not make him the man he is. His love of God does that…and Denver is very lucky to have him as their quarterback.
Well said
You mean “lose.”
I agree with Tebow’s mom.
nikki-
this was excellent football analysis.
impressive
@Pam He would be miserable. There is no way for him to know if a woman is interested in him as a person, his money, or him as a celebrity. That’s the way women are, regardless of the denomination.
@Gregg B. Wendorf Yes, you got it right. Matthew 6 would classify Tebow as a Grade A hypocrite.
It’s not his fault that the cameras seek him out and focus on him when he’s praying on the sideline. It’s a balancing act, to be sure, but his motivation in praying is pure, his expressions of faith are spontaneous and genuine, and he really doesn’t care if you choose to heap scorn upon him, which is not at all like the Pharisees on the street corner. They sought to pay in public only as a premeditated, disingenuous display of vanity. If praying in public wasn’t cool in first century Jerusalem, like it isn’t now in 21st century America, then the Pharisees would not have done it.
I wonder why when Tim takes a knee to pray it is news worthy and considered extreme. Yet when others thump their chests and raise their fist then say “thank God” or “praise the Lord” it is accepted as no big thing.
A definate double standard perhaps?
I recommend anyone calling him a hypocrite better read the entire bible and then look in the mirror !
Very true and a good answer. Thank you.
Ditto, Pam…
Matthew 5:15… Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Nope, not a hypocrite, just shining the light in this very dark world. GO TEBOW!
Gregg B. Wendor – Matthew 7:1-3 also says, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in you own eye?”
Are you qualified to judge Tebow’s heart and motives, are you in the place of God? Perhaps Tebow just loves the Lord and is not ashamed to show it. Would that the majority of Christians were like that.
Grade A Hypocrite? You are completely taking this out of context. This verse is referring to Jewish pharisees that were putting on a show for the other Jewish believers. The pharisees were trying to get praise from the other Jews. Tebow is making a statement to a world (media) that mostly rejects God. Other than praying in public, there is absolutely no comparison and the meaning is completely taken out of context. That is bible 101.
We can be pretty sure we won’t have to witness, yet again, a “broke” pro football player beating up his girlfriend who accidentally knocked over his drug stash. I’m so tired of that scenario. This is refreshing.
Awe, i hope he read the fine print.
@Gregg & @krp: This might be news to you, but Matthew 6 talks about not giving/praying/fasting “to be seen by others.” If that’s why Tim was doing it, he would do stupid stuff like waiting until the camera is rolling for his interviews then saying, “Hold on a sec – I’ve gotta pray first.”
On the contrary, when Tim wants to give thanks, he takes a knee REGARDLESS of where he is or who is around him. Sure, that’s often on a football field; in case you haven’t noticed, he plays football.
I love seeing so many pro-Tebow posts. God is using him in a powerful way…and he is using the platform given him by God to do good. If that bothers you, perhaps you need to do a little introspection. It might not be him that you dislike…it might be how his stand makes you see yourself that you dislike. Tearing down a person to build yourself up is wrong. Tim would never say a bad thing about those of you who are so mean toward him; think about that.
Tim Tebow is a refreshing breath of fresh air!! Finally, a professional football player who lives a good, clean, responsible life.
oh please, don’t believe the hype
You need to read his book. You will be impressed! He is definitely for real. He has every intension of being a better quarterback next year, and practices/learns/puts forth more effort than most. Before he was born, his mom said that he would be a preacher and would call him Timothy. Judging by all the discussion after this article, I think her prayer has been answered.
I live in Denver and a very short walk away from Tebow and I actually do believe “the hype”. High quality guy even when no one is looking.
Fyi, Tim’s been “tebowing” since his high school days. It’s not a new thing to him and it’s not for the camera.
Exactly. Most athletes give “Jesus” a shout out after the game and only when they win. Tebow, prays before the game and not to win. His prayer is of thanksgiving for the job he has and for his teammates. Tebow has his priorities right.
Florida did not win the BCS National Championship in 2009. Alabama did. Still remember Tebow crying when Bama beat them decisively in the SEC Championship Game in 2009.
Florida did win the BCS Championship on Jan. 8, 2009: Florida 24, Oklahoma 14.
Debbie, your memory fails you.
Debbie, no one cares. Stop being bitter that he didn’t go to your hick school.
Debbie… Nikki is correct. Florida did win the 2009 National Championship after kicking Alabama’s tail in the 2008 SEC Championship game. Alabama won the SEC in Dec 2009, and followed with a 2010 National Championship.
Debbie, Actually Florida did win the BCS Championship in 2009, Alabama won it in 2010. Since you remember things so well figured you would know that.
Yes, the Gators actually won the title on January 8′th, 2009 after Tim single-handedly beat Alabama in the SEC Championship game the first week of December in 2008.
His Foundation speaks for its self with helping orphans and now building a hospital, that track record is impressive to show where his money is being invested. He invites children with health problems or the disadvantaged to be with him at each football game, to show where his heart is at. He is a great Ambassador of Christ to show what a Christian looks like and then thanks the Lord for the ability to do such things. Good for him!
They should put him on a show with Charlie Sheen, that would be good TV. Besides they could knock eachother down a peg or two
Steve, what has Tebow done to affect your life so much that you feel he needs to be, as you say, “Knocked down a notch”? Grow up Stevie boy, grow up.
Uh…what?
He has always prayed on the sidelines, this isn’t anything new- He’s not doing it for you, anyway.
Tim Tebow is total class. And he is guaranteed his right to believe what he wants to believe. We should all appreciate a really good person when we see one. I ascribe to no religion. I believe in doing good things for people. So we have that in common.
Tim Tebow will do many good things with his fortune.
Curious why he didn’t land at CAA for his other areas, considering he is repped their as a player. How does this happen? What’s a good reason one would split agencies?
I propose a movie called Through My Eyes. Stars Tebow but you wouldn’t see him. Most of the film would be shot from a camera he would wear. We journey with him to the Phillippines, to hospitals, to prisons, to workouts, to awards shows, see what he sees, hear what he hears, seize each day as he seizes it.
The essence of Tebow and his positive message is compelling. The audience for this kind of first person, inspiring adventure: vast.
This is a good idea. They should do it.
The Tim Tebow you see is the same Tebow the kids see at the family’s orphanage in the Phillipines. And, the same Tebow that hugs those kids, tells them of the glory of God, feeds them, and gives them hope to know that somebody does really care about them. Yep, the same Tebow that’s going to build a $3,000,000.00 hospital for those kids that don’t have access to one. For all those here who are apt to pick the speck of dust out of Tim’s eye, well, how many of you can say you have done as much?
All NFL players are subject to losing their job at any given time.
True, so it’s not a bad idea to use the talents you have been given while you can, the money he makes can be put to good use, which he seems to have a habit of doing. That said, all human beings have the possibility of losing their lives at any given time. 1,000 years from now Tebow’s football career won’t matter, his endorsements won’t matter, even his critics won’t matter; his relationship to Jesus will matter.
At least he will not lose it for spousal abuse, carrying a gun into a club, punching a fan, drugs, cussing out a game official,
drunk driving, creating mayhem in a bar, and last but not least being a “crybaby” like so many others.
