EXCLUSIVE: Bonnie Somerville is set for the female lead opposite Theo James in CBS’ drama pilot Golden Boy, from Nick Wootton and Greg Berlanti. The project, produced by Warner Bros TV and Berlanti Prods. and directed by Richard Shepard, centers on cop Walter Clark (James) and chronicles his meteoric rise from officer to detective and ultimately police commissioner. Somerville, repped by UTA and McKeon Myones Entertainment, will play Detective Deborah McKenzie, a Long Island native and third-generation cop who is the only female detective on the homicide squad.
Girlfriends alumna Tracee Ellis Ross has been cast as one of the leads in NBC’s drama pilot Bad Girls. Adapted from the long-running UK series, the project, from John Wells Prods. and WBTV, follows the ins and outs of a group of unlikely women in a federal prison. Ross will play Rachel, a high-powered business woman who is now serving time for selling phony mortgages. She delayed having kids because of her career, and now she’s desperate to get pregnant — which isn’t easy in prison. Ross, repped by ICM and Impression Entertainment, most recently produced and starred in the BET comedy series Reed Between the Lines.

This Bad Girls pilot just sounds so awful. Ick.
they go from Ryan Phillipe to Theo James.WOW! Is this their definition of improvement? Not to mention, the script is terrible. They bought Berlanti…not a good show. He’s wearing thin.
Bonnie Somerville, a NYC native, just perfect for that part
I love it! Girls in prison!!! It can’t miss!! People will watch for the train wreck factor.
Tracee Lee Ross is so talented. She will make the show great
She must not be too talented… You can’t even remember her name.
Just kidding, I love Tracee, but does this mean Reed Between the Lines is canceled by BET?
