British actor Max Brown (Spooks) has been added to the cast of the CW/CBS Studios pilot Beauty & The Beast. Loosely based on the 1980s CBS series, the project centers on Catherine (Kristin Kreuk), a tough-minded NYPD homicide detective. Brown will play Evan, a medical examiner who regularly works with Catherine. Brown, repped by UTA, UK’s United Agents and Luber Roklin, was a series regular on Showtime’s The Tudors.
Necar Zadegan (24) has been cast in the CW medical drama First Cut, playing Gina, a rock-star heart surgeon. She is with APA and Yoni Ovadia.
Meanwhile, after lengthy negotiations, The Walking Dead‘s Jon Bernthal has closed his deal to star in Frank Darabont’s TNT drama pilot L.A. Noir, a fast-paced crime drama set in Los Angeles during the 1940s and ’50s, reuniting with the former Walking Dead showrunner.

I’m sorry, but did I actually read “rock star heart surgeon?”
The First Cut cast is awful. However, Michael Rady and Justin Hartley are cute. Max Brown is also cute.
Kristin Kreuk = Doomed… She just doesn’t have it. Was the lead from “Hellcats” unavailable?
Yeah, with her failed career and hideous looks.
I think you might be right.
Oh look here. The haters follow her around like little puppy dogs pretending like they don’t care. Piss off and wallow in your lame life.
Not surprised to see Jon Bernthal’s deal close the day after his (Spoilers) Walking Dead death (End Spoilers), the rumors of him joining up started back in October/November which probably was the same time he filmed his death scene. I hope LA Noir succeeds where Hollywood & Vine failed for TNT, because it sounds great! Though, I hope they change the name of the show, since I can’t stop thinking about the video game of the same name.
No need for a name change. Very few people play the game when compared to the potential viewing audience.
It is based on the video game.
No, it’s based on John Buntin’s book L.A. Noir: The Struggle For The Soul Of America’s Most Seductive City. (Click the link in this very story). And the audience for a series like this isn’t going to have much overlap with the video game crowd, no need to change the title.
Kreuk made Smallville a hit
Lord no. LOL! Personally, I like Kristin a lot. I think she is adorable, but most everyone else hated Lana and bemoaned the very existence of her on the show. The fans always wanted Lana’s role diminished or gone, and more focus on Clark and Lex and their respective families. I blame the writers and not Kristin, and I think most reasonable fans do the same. Kristin is very charming and beautiful, but honestly, people watched the show in spite of her, not because of her.
Speak for yourself. I watched it because of Kristin, and stopped when she left. Stop thinking “everyone” or “the fans” hated Lana. It’s stupid. Haters simply make the most noise, so it simply looks like there are many of them. The anonymity of the internet helps their cause. They root against something they don’t like rather than promoting what they do. They enjoy hating on others more than they enjoy indulging in what they like.
Alright Kristin — we get it. People like you. No need to go posting everywhere about it!
