David Krumholtz is finalizing a deal to play the lead opposite Michael Urie in CBS’ half-hour pilot Partners. The multicamera comedy, from Will & Grace creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, centers on lifelong friends and business partners — architects Charlie (Krumholtz), who is straight, and Louis (Urie), who is gay. Sophia Bush co-stars as Charlie’s fiance; Brandon Routh as Louis’ partner. This marks Krumholtz’s return to comedy after a string of drama series gigs. The Numbers alum, repped by Gersh and The Collective, most recently co-starred on NBC’s The Playboy Club earlier this season.

Krumholtz plays Charlie? Wasn’t that his name on Numb3rs too?
I know the show is based on Mutchnick and Kohan’s relationship but I wish they would have been color blind in casting either of the male leads. They’ve pretty much covered this subject matter in Will and Grace but if a lead were African American, Hispanic, Asian, etc it would have at least given the show a unique look.
This is the 3rd attempt to get this show picked up. Good luck this go round.
I agree. Maybe the casting team will consider adding some good ethnic unknowns as supporting characters since they chose not to go with any well known ethnic actors for the lead roles.

Er, why is his characters name Charlie? And yes, he was also Charlie in Numb3rs. These people really need to be creative, and not give actors like David, the same name for any character that he plays. It just gets boring.

David Krumholtz is one of the most talent actors in the industry. I hope that he is well, because a read that he is receiving treatment for Tyroid Cancer…is that true? David take care, you are the best.
