Wisteria Lane resident Vanessa Williams is moving to a new address — 666 Park Ave. Williams has become the first Desperate Housewives cast member to book a new pilot, ABC’s supernatural drama 666 Park Avenue. Based on the Alloy book series by Gabriella Pierce, the project centers on a young couple (Rachael Taylor, Dave Annable) who accept an offer to manage one of the most historic apartment buildings in New York City. Unwittingly, they begin to experience supernatural occurrences that complicate and endanger the lives of everyone in the building. Williams, repped by UTA and GEF Entertainment, will play the coldly beautiful and sophisticated wife of the building’s owner (Terry O’Quinn). The casting stems from the talent holding deal Williams signed with ABC in November. Williams, who will finish up the final season of Desperate Housewives where she plays divorcee Renee Perry, has her memoir coming out next month.

Now they have to cast Jesse Martin in a pilot as he has a holding deal too. Thought Vanessa might end up in Scruples. There’s been little casting on that. Maybe Jesse

Love this casting. It’ll be “The Devil Wears Prada – The Literal Version.”
Plenty of diverse folk in pilots this year, not to mention mid-season stuff that isn’t out yet (“Scandal,” “Touch”). It always takes nets awhile to catch up with the real world.
Hopefully the whiners who cry about casting will cease for awhile. Oh right, they like playing victim.

Anyway, this has got to be one of the most diverse pilot seasons I’ve ever seen and I say bring it on. It’s about time these shows started looking like America and not Finland.
I so wanted VM to move to Revenge and star as Ashley’s mother. She would be perfect for that show.
DenverDean, that is a great idea. Williams is a very underrated actress. Revenge is one of the best dramas currently on tv.
