Fox has announced its summer original slate, which looks a lot like last year’s, with So You Think You Can Dance and Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen and Masterchef all returning. They will be joined by Ramsay’s newest series Hotel Hell, originally slated for a spring run in the Friday 8 PM slot but pushed to summer to make room for The Finder, which was relocated from Thursdays to Fridays. Fox also made the format change for Dance official, scheduling the summer staple once a week and canceling the results show. The show’s co-creator/executive producer/judge Nigel Lythgoe announced the news back in January. Dance will kick off its ninth season with a two-hour premiere on Thursday, May 24, the night following the end of the broadcast season and the season finale of American Idol. It will move to its regular Wednesday 8-10 PM slot the following week. Host Cat Deeley and resident judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy are back, along with guest judges Adam Shankman, Debbie Allen, Tyce Diorio, Lil’ C, Stacey Tookey and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Hell’s Kitchen will return for its 10th season on Tuesday, May 29, paired once again with Masterchef. Beginning on June 4, Hell’s Kitchen will also air originals Mondays at 9 PM, following newbie Hotel Hell.

As Idol is still big, but nowhere what it once was…I would suggest you do what you can to slow Idol’s bleeding. Dance is already on life support.
ugh- Mary Murphy is back. What a loud mouth idiot. I can’t imagine that shes really able to dance without her incessant cackling. A total turnoff
I have to agree, Murphy’s constant screaming and ‘train’ schtick are annoying to say the least. Two seasons ago when she was off the show, she was NOT missed.
Her laugh is like the proverbial nails on chalkboard. Why do the producers keep her on? Don’t they listen to her voice?
No results show? That sucks.
Fox should do a SYTYCD backstage show as a 6-minute web short and make the Thursday one a results show.
Won’t miss the results show. I do miss the amazing talents of Mia Michael and Wade Robson. Not a fan of Tyce or Nigel but I do love Cat Deeley. Psyched to watch the show this summer!
This show should only be airing a a once a week kind of thing, considering the over-exposure it receives during the summer. The Hotel hell show won’t last past a few weeks as the concept is just plain idiotic.
Too bad Kristen Chenoweth will not guest judge again, she was awsome! I hope Mia will be back, she’s just wonderful. She kind of sucked as as judge, but as a choreographer no one is above her.
Moles at Fox suggest that Hotel Hell is surprisingly very very good and with Ramsay’s power there I reckon it’ll usurp one of his other shows, some of which are running outta steam.
