Midway through Justified‘s third-season run, FX has given the drama series a fourth season pickup with a 13-episode order. “Justified is one of television’s best series and this season has reinforced that excellence,” FX’s EVP of original programming Nick Grad said. Developed for television by Graham Yost and starring Timothy Olyphant, Justified, is based on the Elmore Leonard character Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. “There are many reasons all of us on Justified are grateful to get a chance to do another season,” said Yost. “We get to do more work with amazing actors, writers, producers, directors, musicians, editors and a jaw-droppingly talented crew.”
Through seven weeks of Season 3, first-run episodes of Justified are averaging 4.3 million viewers, up 8% vs. season 2, and 2.1 million Adults 18-49, also up 8% from season 2. The weekly multi-run average viewership for the current is 7.0 million total viewers and 3.4 million Adults 18-49. Six new episodes remain, with the third season finale airing April 10. Yost executive produces the series with Leonard, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Michael Dinner and Fred Golan; Olyphant is a Producer. Justified is produced by FX Prods. and Sony Pictures Television.

THANK GOD! This team continues to make great television.
Great news!
Great news! I LOVE this show!
Fantastic!
YES ! YES ! YES !
Really, really, really, love this show. So glad the renewed it for season four. Something worth watching.
The best show on TV.
its incredibly good television. series two was near impossibly good.
God knows but TV aint what she used to be.
And lets not forget: as a garden of Eden, we have Twin Peaks to thank for all this.
David Lynch: ar dheis Dé go raigh a ainm riamh.
you are right (but raibh!)
This is easily one of the top shows on TV right now. The writing is excellent and the cast is top notch. Even their villains are likable. It would be nice if the cast and crew started getting the accolades that are so deserving of them all.
Brilliant news! Thank you so much, FX!
Finally FX came to their senses and renewed the highest quality drama in their current lineup. I still hold grudge for cancellation of Terriers. SOA cop out in season 4 made me wonder if FX was experiencing a dark period when comes to creative quality just like AMC and Showtime are going through right now.
The very best show television has to offer. I never miss it. TO is perfect. Great writing, casting, etc. if you are not watching, you should be.
The only thing I don’t like about the show is the fact that it’s not shot on location. The semi-arid Santa Monica mountains don’t look anything like the lush green, pastoral valleys of the OH river basin, ever. If you’re from the Midwest, the scenery gets a little tough to swallow.
Milton, you are right on. Love most everything about the show, but the shooting locations are laughable. Feels like I’m watching the Dukes of Hazzard (TV series) at times.
I’m from California, and I can easily tell the difference, too. But they do a good job disguising things, keeping hills out of focus, etc.
As a resident of a town near Harlan, Kentucky, the scenes are “LIFE LIKE”! The stuff that happens in the show is everyday occurance here at home. Everything is swept under the rug, and the boys and girls from Lexington and Frankfort have to come in and clean it up! You all should get some locals to help with some stories for upcoming show…just sayin’!!! We are country as biscuits and gravey! LOVE THE SHOW!!!!! Get’em Raylan!!!!
Mu friend is signed for a multi episode appearance next season, stoked for him and the show.
I’ve read the first comments, then noticed a common pattern. And I agree with them. “Justified” is just one of the few precious shows on TV that deserves every exclamation point that’s used to speak about it.
I do love the show, but don’t think this season is quite as good as last… but then who could top the complex, unpredictable Mags Bennett as a character?
Boy Howdy Folks! I’m glad everyone who has commented here loves the show as much as I do… but no one mentions the real reason tis show is as great as it is: Elmore Leonard! Yes Yost is a wonderful producer, show runner. And the cast and crew deserve every accolade but the reason this show works is because the producers, writers and actors get & trust Elmore Leonard.
Everytime Hollywood does Elmore Leonard without understanding and getting what he does so well… you get junk like Big Bounce and Be Cool (Just to mention a few recent mis-fires).
Why do you think its Elmore Leonard that Quentin Tarantino choose to adapt when he made Jackie Brown his only project not dreamt up by him?!
For whatever reasons… God gave Mr. Leonard a talent for characters and their voices.
On a slightly different tact: FX please bring back Terriers! That was a great but way to short ride!
I have loved Justified from the get go. Love the cast, the writing, the characters and dialog between them, the scenery. Everything…. Most of all, I’m in love with Timothy Olyphant!!!
When does Season 4 for Justified begin???? We are anxious!!! Thanks!
