EXCLUSIVE: Indian Paintbrush has acquired Off The Grid, an action thriller spec by Christopher Cantwell and Christopher Rogers. The film will be produced by Indian Paintbrush’s Steven Rales and Mark Royal and Mike Pruss will be co-producing. In Off The Grid, a professional “fixer” named Ghost who helps white-collar criminals change their identities and disappear saves a seemingly innocent woman from a violent loan shark. Ghost finds his own life in danger after a private security firm puts a price on his head. He goes “underground” in an attempt to discover who his mystery assailant is and gets caught in a tangled web of betrayal, revenge and murder. The scribes’ last screenplay, The Knoll, made the Black List. They are repped by Verve and Management 360, which negotiated with Indian Paintbrush’s Peter McPartlin.

“…a professional “fixer” named Ghost who helps white-collar criminals change their identities and disappear saves a seemingly innocent woman from a violent loan shark. Ghost finds his own life in danger after a private security firm puts a price on his head.”
Wait — WHAT private security firm? A price on his head? WHY? What does that have to do with the woman?
Sigh. If a writer and their reps can’t come up with a coherent, non-generic logline, how can they come up with a killer script?
Hooray for Chris and Chris! Nice guys and talented writers.
This script is incredible. Of course it’s in good hands with IP.
Dan H. is a d-bag.
Zach, calling me d-bag or any other cool name you can think of doesn’t make the logline suck any less.
“Wait — WHAT private security firm? A price on his head? WHY? What does that have to do with the woman?”
I guess you’ll just have to see the movie, d-bag!
Yeah. I was really bummed when the Usual Suspects spec didn’t reveal who Kaiser Soze was or why he murdered everyone on the boat. Totally lame!
