Katie Couric’s nationally syndicated talk show will premiere on Monday, Sept. 10. The show’s executive producer Jeff Zucker unveiled the date, along with a new logo for the show and announcements of two senior production staff hires, director Joe Terry, who has spent the last 14 years as director for The Oprah Winfrey Show, and co-executive producer Kathy Samuels (Rachael Ray). Zucker will serve as the day-to-day showrunner of Katie, which is distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television. It will air live in front of a studio audience from TV One at ABC’s Manhattan headquarters.

With Zucker at the helm, can’t wait to watch what will no doubt be a fiasco of liberal proportions.
PS, the logo is really unimpressive, guys.
I agree, this show will not cut it. Time will show the Katie Couric does not have the appeal to carry it off.
So what’s getting the boot – The Revolution or General Hospital?

Dr. Oz’s hand-holding borders on creepy. But, he is following the Oprah mandate – “pretend you care”
Another talk show…very original. The Revolution is unwatchable. The brass at ABC has ruined daytime programming. I program my DVR out of habit and out of nostalgia–I watched the soaps with my Mom when I was a pee-wee; in eight grade I left school early for Luke and Laura’s wedding; and today I watch the episodes on the weekend during my workouts. There is rich tradition to this show. There is fan loyalty to this breed of programming: Advertisors understand that fact. As long as GH is on the air, I will watch. It is a timeline of culture and a preferred escape to the talk show.
Here’s something I won’t be watching. Save GH!!! Kick the low-rated The Revolution to the curb!
Rest assured the General Hospital fans will boycott Katie if she kills are show.

ABC has chosen to destroy tv history and telling long time soap fans your loyalty has meant nothing. If GH is axed for Katie its another kick in the teeth for soap fans who are still outraged that AMC was replaced with an off the wall cooking show and OLTL with that train wreck called the Revolution. Some things should stay the same like ‘love in the afternoon”. Given ABC 40 yrs as a daytime soap watcher and this is the thanks i get?
Who needs another talk show? My grown daughters and I DVR General Hospital every day and love to talk about the show. Nothing like coming home from work and visiting Port Charles for while. Needless to say, I will also boycott ABC if GH is replaced by another needless talk show.
WHY????? ABC is just going downhill very quickly! The Chew, The Revolution, 3 straight hours of the same news in a row… Come on already! Katie is a vanilla flake. BORING! General Hospital is the only show that holds ABC on during the daytime. Come on ABC, enough is enough! Try something new and original. We currently live with 9/11, now we have to fear 9/10!
