20th Century Fox Puts ’24′ Movie On Hold
My colleague Mike Fleming yesterday broke the news of the long-gestating 24 movie being put on hold over scheduling, budgetary and other financial issues. (Star Kiefer Sutherland has a short window between the time he wraps production on the first season of his new Fox series Touch and the time he has to be available for Season 2 should the show be renewed.) On NBC’s The Tonight Show With Jay Leno tonight to promote Touch, Sutherland addressed the delay, noting that he and the movie’s producers are still hoping to mount production this year. “We’re trying to fit a lot of moving parts…We’re still trying,” he said. “If we don’t get into this slot, we’ll do it next year.” Here is the video:

Jack Bauer also issued a formal statement on the movie’s delay:
DAMNIT!
I really doubt how good of a film this could be… almost the entire premise is designed to fit television and they have used up way too many plot twists and scenarious where anything they do now would just feel stale.
Your lack of faith disturbs me.
Let it go, Jack.
“Do. Or do not. There is no try.”
I am more happy I have discovered the new series Touch than more 24. Thanks for the subtle heads up
. Not sure how 24 will fit into movie form without seeming rushed and overly cheesey but then I couldn’t take season 8 seriously after watching The Wire.
Funny, I thought the “delay” was all about the Benjamins (Kiefer not getting enough of them from Fox).
…but the movie will only cover two hours.
Anybody else sick of old tired celebrities like I am.
Celebs under 25 rule.
Please leave OUR HOLLYWOOD NOW!
LOL. Do you think the important things of life are all because of young people? If the older generation did not use the wisdom gleaned from the mistakes they made when younger the young generation would be in a mess. Hollywood is owned by people over 25.
Oh, you mean real many men Like Robert Pattinson and others whose balls haven’t dropped yet?
There is so little testosterone in young Hollywood these days that when I see one of their movies I feel like I’m at a lactation clinic.
At least Sutherland can make you believe he’s a bad-ass. Taylor Lautner, or whatever his name is, DeCaprio (older than 25 I know, but still a youngster) and the rest couldn’t kick my 10 year old grandsons ass.
