EXCLUSIVE: Kiefer Sutherland’s new Fox drama series Touch is amping up the star power. Maria Bello is joining the show for a multi-episode arc this season with an option to become a series regular if the drama, as expected, is picked up for Season 2. Bello will play an earth-mother type whose daughter shared a gift similar to that of Martin’s (Sutherland) son Jake (David Mazouz). Bello is coming off a starring turn on NBC’s praised but short-lived drama Prime Suspect. She is with CAA and John Carrabino.

Is she going to wear a silly hat?
It probably seems absurd, but I did not watch Prime Suspect because of the silly hat that I saw in the promos. Any character who would wear such a hat is a character I know i would despise. I suspect the show failed because of that hat. I’m deadly serious about that.
Maria Bello is great. She adds to any show.
Have not seen Touch (yet), so any comments about it would be appreciated.
Touch is very corny and contrived. I wouldn’t bother with it. It’s really not a FOX show, it should be airing for the old ladies who watch CBS. Ratings are dropping so the jury is way out on renewal anyway.

Hopefully,on Touch-we will be able to see her beautiful face. She is actually a very pretty woman,however, you’d never know it on Prime Suspect because of the hat. She is also a talented actress. I wish her the best. If Touch is eventually cancelled-in no way , shape,or, form-will it be because of Maria. Lots of luck to her.
Please shut up about the hat and go finish your undoubtedly awesome spec scripts. The world is waiting.

Yeah, because you’d have to have worked in wardrobe on Prime Suspect to think the hat comments are boring, irrelevant and lazy, for sure.
I was a strong supporter of Maria Bello and the US adaption of Prime Suspect. I still don’t understand why it was cancelled. I am a firm believer that you need to find the right time slot for a show before cancelling it.
As a much as I enjoy Kiefer’s performance on the new show, I expect that Maria will be a strong positive addition to the show, as Annie was on 24. Just don’t kill her off!
When networks move shows around, they invariably kill them because whatever audience the show has, gets confused, can’t find it, and boom, cancellation. So there’s no “finding the right time slot.” It’s sink or swim with the timeslot you got, and there’s always a new pilot coming along to fill that slot.
I loved her on Prime Suspect. Though the wardrobe was ridic.
Loved the hat.
Loved Bjork’s swan dress.

The US Prime Suspect had the best detective’s bullpen in US television history, even surpassing Barney Miller.
Alas, there is nothing about “Touch” that appeals to me in the least, but Bello will now be enough to get me to sample it.
Maria wasn’t just wearing any old hat. It was a Fedora. And her character liked to toss ‘em back. Booze, I mean. Riveting. Just riveting. A starring turn? If you say so. Praised but short lived. If you say so.
Touch is just a feel good show with a lot of heart and intertwine story development and the connections we share, and if you dont like it then just turn the channel, you still can do that in America…. highway to heaven…..touched by an angel….. got alot of BOO ing but ran for years!!!!!!!!!!!
