NBC’s The Voice and ABC’s Dancing With The Stars will battle it out on two nights starting the week of April 2. NBC just announced the scheduling pattern of its live portion of The Voice, which will kick off with the first live performance show Monday, April 2, which will air against Dancing‘s performance edition from 8-10 PM; and the first Voice live elimination round on Tuesday, April 3, which also will go head-to-head with Dancing‘s result show from 9-10 PM. The last Voice live performance episode will be on Monday, May 7, followed by a two-hour live finale on Tuesday, May 8.
For the rest of its run this season, Dancing will face the seventh season of NBC’s America’s Got Talent with new judge Howard Stern. The talent competition series will debut with two-hour episodes on Monday, May 14 (8-10 PM) and Tuesday, May 15 (8-10 PM) before settling into its regular time periods of Monday 8-9 PM and Tuesday 9-10 PM. NBC’s new Tuesday night lineup starting on April 3 will be The Biggest Loser at 8 PM, The Voice at 9 PM and the new Fashion Star at 10 PM. Fashion Star debuts March 13.

The VOICE and DWTS will both steal eachother’s audiences because both mostly go for the same audience with NBC’s show skewing much younger and clearly emerging as top in the young demos.
DWTS will probably average high 2s and ‘The Voice’ around a 5. But let’s first see how they duke it out in 2wks.
Is ‘Fashion Star’ really that good or why is NBC really giving it the post ‘Voice’ timeslot? I’d have put AWAKE in that slot (yes i so badly want that new drama to do well). I guess they are trying to launch a new reality show that would probably alternate with aging ‘Loser’.
WHAT? They ended Parenthood early so they can give the post-Voice timeslot to some crappy real tv.
And why not give Awake or Grimm some much needed boost by moving them to post-Voice?
Stupid NBC is stupid. Enjoy your 4th place…until Univision takes it from you.
The people watching The Voice are NOT going to be an audience for Awake. There’s pretty much no place on NBC’s schedule for Awake. Truthfully, it should be on cable. Not only would it get more viewers, but it also wouldn’t be so dumbed down.
If it’s gonna be on NBC, believe me: Thursday is it’s best bet. Same audience as NBC’s comedies.
Parenthood easily the finest show on the networks
Indeed Peter. Another popularity contest like The Voice, likely to overextend itself like DTWS, AI, and SYTYCD. I doubt any of them would win the emmy for best reality compentition show or best reality host because both TAR, and Jeff Probst bring it in spectcaular Style than the others combine period!
I really hate NBC for taking aim at dancing with the stars when it will only harm both shows in the end — look at what happened with grey’s anatomy vs CSI when both were pulling in 25 million viewers. It’s not as if NBC couldn’t program on another night — they are not winning any other night. Oh well, i hope it fails.
Dancing with the stars begins march 19th…. watch dancing and dvr the voice….
Dancing is ripe for the picking especially when their “stars” continue to get lower and lower on the “star” scale. This season is the worst yet. They even had to go to univision this season to get someone that at least one area of the population can get behind because half pint and erkle fans are hard to find
Fashion Star will be done and out after several episodes. NBC needs to stop with all of this crazy reality TV and start producing some better scripted programming, or is that just asking too much of them to do?
