Neal McDonough has been tapped as one of the leads, playing former LAPD chief William Parker, in TNT’s one-hour pilot LA Noir, written and to be directed by The Walking Dead‘s Frank Darabont. LA Noir tells the true story of a decades-long conflict between the LAPD, under the determined leadership of Police Chief Parker (McDonough), and ruthless criminal elements led by mobster Mickey Cohen, a one-time boxer who rose to the top of LA’s criminal world. Parker, a man with a long memory and a ruthless streak when provoked, is committed to rooting out corruption in the police department, and equally dedicated to bringing down Mickey Cohen and the mob. McDonough, repped by Paradigm and Inphenate, is coming off playing this season’s main villain on FX’s Justified.

Great! He is certainly charismatic. I can’t wait for this show now.
First bit of casting on this show that I actually like.
It’s official. LA Noir will be the best show on TV, perhaps the best in history.
An enthusiast!
I love Neal, hope this is a winner for him.
So McDonough is playing Parker in this show, and Nick Nolte in the GANGSTER SQUAD movie? Will definitely be interesting to see how their portrayals differ.
Great casting.
Neal will do well in this series.
Adds more fuel to the fire that I think Southland is heading for. 1.8 million an episode will not earn Southland another season IMO.
Neal is the perfect person for the part.happy to see him back
Is this based on James Ellroys LA Noir? If it is it has the potential to be an interesting series. And Neal McDonough is perfect casting!
Wow, great choice! He’s been brilliantly scary on Justified, and was so moving on Band of Brothers. This series sounds really interesting. When will it air (assuming it is picked up)?
So it doesn’t end well for him in Justified? Shocked, I tell ya!!!
A genuine talent and a pleasure to work with. Onward and upward Neal!
He adds life to every show he is in..
