British actress Olivia Williams will star opposite Ben Barnes, Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore. The film is an adaptation of a series of young adult books about a teen who learns the art of wizardry after discovering that he is the seventh son of a seventh son. The Seventh Son is produced by Thomas Tull, Basil Iwanyk and Lionel Wigram. Jon Jashni and Alysia Cotter will executive produce. Williams’ credits include Roman Polanski’s The Ghost Writer, The Sixth Sense, An Education, which earned her a SAG nomination, and Wes Anderson’s Rushmore.
Williams will be seen this year playing Eleanor Roosevelt opposite Bill Murray and Laura Linney in the Focus Features film, Hyde Park On The Hudson and in Anna Karenina with Keira Knightley and Kelly Macdonald. Williams is represented by ICM and in the U.K. by Independent Talent Group.

Please o please let Iron Maiden score this movie!!
YAY! Olivia deserves more attention from Hollywood! Here’s hoping she gets an Oscar Nomination next year for Anna Karenina or Hyde Park on Hudson!
If the movie doesn’t look like Derek Riggs’ concept art, it’ll be a major disappointment.
Perfect, beautiful and talented Ben Barnes!!!
She rocked on Dollhouse!
I am sure there was a movie like this already. It starred the boy from My Sisters Keeper
Er. Is this adapted from The Spooks Apprentice? Or that Orson Scott Card one you have the cover from above?
hmmmm.
Wrong YA series…. the “Seventh Son” in question is based on the Joseph Delaney series “The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch” (about medieval witch hunters in the U.K.) not the Orson Scott Card series (about Native Americans) pictured.
It is based on the Joseph Delaney series, which I said here yesterday, and again today, but the rocket scientists who “monitor” these comments have deleted my previous posts. We can’t have people pointing out your factual errors, can we Deadline?
Who cares what it’s based on… Iron Maiden is coming to the big screen!!!!
